Queens Bredbury 2-2 Nantwich Pirates

⚽️ Alex Radcliffe
⚽️ Eddie Warrington

Pirates win 5-4 on pens

MOTM - Ellis Wright

Unbelievable win today, looked like it was going to be a long day in the first half we couldn’t get near them for 20 mins but after we settled a little we looked much better. They had a 2-0 lead going into HT after a couple of mistakes at the back gifting them easy chances. Andy also making multiple saves. HT 2-0.

Second half though we came out and had a real go, Radders getting us back in the game after some ping pong in the box, Liam has managed to get it to Alex who’s poked in 2-1. We kept on trying to create chances through set-pieces while Queens Bredbury still threatened with their quality. Then in the 88th minute Ellis floats a cross to the back post for Eddie to nod in back across goal and into the net. FT 2-2.

Then in the lottery of penalties which we fully deserved to take it too. Some excellent pens but when their striker dragged their 3rd pen wide they opened up the door and we kept our cool to put ourselves into the 3rd round. What a performance from everyone really dug deep and come away with the win.

Top Of The Hill 1-0 Nantwich Pirates

MOTM - Ellis Wright

Much better performance today from the lads but we come up short in the end. All of the attackers missing today meant we had to change it up with lads playing out of position but can’t fault the effort. First half was fairly even with their keeping making 2-3 good saves with both teams having chances. HT 0-0.

Second half we sat in and tried to play on the break with TOTH having a lot of the ball. We had the chance to take the lead through a pen but sadly Ed’s fired it straight off the bar to continue our poor run with pens. Ellis also hit the bar with a good strike but in the end TOTH scored the winner with about 10 to go, ball over the top and a dubious hand ball shout but a cool finish in the end. FT 1-0.

Good luck to Top Of The Hill in the next round. We go again next week with our first away day in the Cheshire Cup.

Nantwich Pirates 2-4 NHB

MOTM - Ben Gallagher

Tough result again today, took the lead twice again but just outworked and outfought by an NHB side that just wanted it more than us. We need to dust ourselves down and crack on, lots of football to be played.

Nantwich Pirates 6-3 AFC Tima

⚽️ Mikey Truan
⚽️ Will Oakes
⚽️ Josh Cooke
⚽️ Eddie Warrington
⚽️ Liam Heyes-Porter
⚽️ Lewis Wright

MOTM - Josh Cooke

Excellent win today on a really tough pitch. We started well knocking the ball around, we took the lead through Mikey beating a couple of players in the box and finishing the chance. They equalised almost instantly, one ball straight over the top and their striker lobbed it over Andy. We then put ourselves back in front, Will flicking a Harry cross in from close range. Josh then got us the third, a scramble in the box and the ball fell to him to poke in. We then had a chance to make it 4 from the penalty spot, but Liam smashed it over the bar and still not sure it’s come down. HT 3-1.

Continued the second half in similar fashion, Eddie running through from another Harry pass and he placed it into the bottom corner. Harry again being creator playing the ball into Liam’s feet who was in acres of space and made up for his penalty miss slotting it said it away. Tima then grabbed one back from a brilliant finish from about 25 yards out. Lewis killed the game off with a very unorthodox finish past the keeper. Tima got a consolation in the last minute but overall a very good result. FT 6-3.
