Accountability Goes Both Ways!!
Yes, everyone is an adult and, as such, should be accountable for their actions. But then again, we need to stop normalising certain behaviours simply because they haven’t happened to us yet.
When certain things happen, you just want to stay quiet and face your front. 😂 But then again, when there’s an issue already playing out here, it means we can all have our say because it has become a community issue.
In as much as "I DON’T" subscribe to bul£ying of any sort, I disagree with people who are outrightly supporting the man and Lucy’s actions while blaming and insulting Charlotte for bringing the man to the media.
Remember that this man was already in the media with his new-found love, openly flaunting themselves.
Again have you listened to all Charlotte's voice notes to the man's friends?
Now, with all sincerity, as a lady or a man, if your partner is abroad and they openly flaunt another person while telling you a completely different story, will you honestly be happy?
Instead of blaming only Charlotte, let’s also hold the man accountable for openly coming out with another woman and rubbing it in his partner’s face.
A lot of African men dey hustle, dey do sacrifices to support their wives back home without physically romancing another woman on the internet space for everyone to see.
Accountability should go both ways. We can disagree with someone’s reaction without pretending that the actions that triggered it never happened.
We watch, we learn, and we move accordingly. 👀
