We had an absolute blast performing (twice!) at the Norwich Lanes Fayre on Sunday! Photos and videos are still coming in but we're over the moon with these great shots from David Willis - they really capture the joy of a truly brilliant event. Thank you so much, David!

Many, many more pictures to follow soon. You have been warned...

Thank you as always to Andy Garner for a whole day of dancing in the sunshine and to Norwich Lanes for bringing our Fine City together as one 💛

It's been an action-packed summer for the Jammers! Not only did we have a fabulous gig with Gary Winter and the Doghouse Big Band at Hoveton Hall (more from that shortly!) but we're dancing at the Norwich Lanes Fayre this Sunday - and if that wasn't enough, we managed to squeeze in a workshop with the one and only Jenny Thomas on Saturday too! We were already pretty proud of our current routine, but yet again, she worked the 'Jenny effect' on us and suddenly, we've taken it up a level. Norwich Lanes Fayre, you're in for a treat.

Not only that, she's choreographed a little something for us which *might* just be performed live one day soon. Watch this space...

Thank you, Jenny, for putting us through our paces once again and for adding a touch of magic and sparkle to our dancing. You're the best ✨️

The Jenny Effect strikes again! Twenty-four happy Jammers spent a whole day hammering a brand-new routine into shape, and we can't believe how good it looks already. That's what you get when your choreographer is the best in the business. And because we asked nicely, she even let us stop for lunch too 😉

Thank you for another brilliant workshop, Jenny Thomas. You really do bring out the best in us. Please come and see us again soon!

And now for something a little different! The Jammers were lucky enough to experience a fantastic evening with Anna Mudeka, benefiting from her incredible energy, spirit and wealth of knowledge of West and Southern African dance - and if that wasn't enough, she brought her drummers with her too! Thank you, Anna, for sharing your culture and journey with us. It was a wonderful evening and we'd love to have you back with us again soon.

A lovely, warm thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Jammers session of 2026 ✨ It was a pleasure to welcome some new faces and start the year dancing with friends.

If you missed it, don’t worry — all of our Thursday evening sessions throughout January are open, so there’s still plenty of time to come along and see what we’re about.

Classes are at intermediate level. You don’t need to be a jazz dance expert to join us, but we do ask that dancers either:

🔸 have some previous experience in jazz, tap, or related dance form, or ...
🔸 dance regularly and are at an intermediate level in another style.

📍 Silver Road Community Centre
🕖 Thursdays, 7–9pm (January only)
💷 £10 for 2 hours

Jammers is all about working together to improve our dance, build confidence in performance, and progress as a supportive community - if that sounds like your thing, get in touch.

🎺 The first Jammers session of 2026 kicks off tomorrow evening at 7pm, Silver Road 🎶

We're looking forward to waking up our bodies up after the holidays, reconnecting with the music, and spending time with our little jazz dance community.

January is a trial month, so if you’re curious about joining us, do come along and dance! We’re a friendly bunch who support each other to learn, grow, and enjoy the dance together.

Hope to see some new (and familiar!) faces.

A peek behind the scenes of our Some of These Days routine below, choreographed by Jenny Thomas. Still my personal favourite! 🧡

🎉✨ It’s almost 2026!

If you’re thinking about dancing more in the new year, love jazz and swing, and you’re based in/ near Norwich, we might have just the thing…

Our lovely, supportive vernacular jazz dance troupe, the Jenny Thomas Jammers, are opening our doors to new members from Thursday 8 January.

We’re a friendly group of dancers of all ages who meet on Thursday evenings to build confidence in jazz dance and performance — though performing is always optional.

You may have seen us dancing at a local event. We’re supported and guided by amazing professional choreographer Jenny Thomas, who helps shape our training and development.

✨ January is a trial month, so you’re very welcome to drop in on any Thursday, dance with us, and see what we’re about.

We don’t expect new members to be proficient in jazz, but we do ask that dancers either dance regularly and are at an intermediate level in another style, or have previous experience in jazz, tap, or another dance form and are prepared to practice outside of class to support their development.

📍 Silver Road Community Centre
🕖 Thursdays, 7–9pm (from 8 January)
💷 £10 for 2 hours

So, as promised, here it is - Saturday night's performance! 😍💥

We think this may just be the most complex routine we've attempted yet. But it's up there with our favourites - possibly top of the list - and we're on the hunt for opportunities to dance it again as soon as we can!

As always, thank you so much to the incredible Jenny Thomas for conjuring up this choreography and then working her magic further to pull it all into place. We hope we've done your vision proud, Jenny - and we can't wait to see what you dream up for your Jammers next!

Whether you saw us live at Fine City Swing or whether you're watching this for the first time, we'd love to hear your thoughts on our performance. And don't forget, if you're searching for a troupe to jazz up your event, look no further. Please feel free to get in touch!

Thank you again to Fine City Swing for giving us a showcase slot and once more, with feeling, to Jenny - and thank you, of course, to you, for all your support.

Anyway, enough from us. Sit back, press play and enjoy...
