The 1st XI kept the pressure on Aberdeenshire at the top of the table with the narrowest of victories over Freuchie on Saturday.
Having lost the toss, Freuchie opted to bat first and found themselves on the end of another tight PDCC bowling display. Pressure up top with the new ball led to a mix up and a simple run out for the first wicket. After this, wickets would fall at regular intervals with Homayon the pick of the bowlers with a 10 over spell with the new ball to bowl Freuchie out for 108.
In response, the chase was looking fairly straight forward at 67-2 with Babar and Fraser in the 20s and set. Somehow, PDCC would find themselves snatching defeat from the jaws of victory at 95-9. However, up stepped Ibadullah with a game winning 14*, supported at the other end by skipper Rory with a valiant 0* to see us over the line.
This sees the 1st XI go back into 2nd with 3 must win games remaining.
The 2nd XI welcomed Master Blasters to Doo’cot Park looking to pick their form up. They got off to a good start with the ball restricting Master Blasters to 101-5 at drinks. The remaining 23 overs however, would see the opposition put 192 runs on for the loss of only 2 wickets.
The run chase was always going to be a difficult one, but PDCC did well to dig in and bat out the 45 overs, Fergie showing the class is permanent with a lower order 60 not out.
The 2nd XI remain 8th in the table and travel to struggling Dundee High next week in hope of a crucial victory.
The 3rd XI travelled down the A9 to Aberfeldy to take on a strong Breadalbane side. The opposition would cruise to 280-6 from their 40 overs despite some good bowling from the young team and 3 wickets from Owais.
PDCC showed some grit in reply, managing to bat the full 40 overs. But they would end up 180 runs short of their target.
The 3rd XI remain in 7th place and travel to Dundee next week to take on Kinloch.
