Tonight's archery session was probably best described as soggy! ☔🏹

The first half hour was spent either sitting in cars or sheltering in the pavilion while a particularly heavy rain shower passed over. A few people decided to call it a night and head home, but the hardcore archers stuck it out!

Thankfully, patience paid off. Once the rain cleared, the weather improved and it turned into a really pleasant evening on the range.

Well done to everyone who braved the elements tonight! 🌧️➡️🌤️🎯

🏹 Volunteers’ Week Shout Out 🏹

This Volunteers’ Week, we’d like to give a huge shout out to the amazing people who generously give their time to keep our club running smoothly. From setting up and packing away, maintaining equipment and grounds, organising events and competitions, serving on committees, welcoming new members, and stepping in whenever help is needed - you are the people who make Perth Archery Club such a fantastic place to be.

Your dedication, good humour, and willingness to help make a real difference to our club and everyone who shoots here. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do.

Thank you for being the heart of Perth Archery Club. We couldn’t hit the target without you! 🎯

A quieter session on the range tonight - maybe the mixed weather forecast or Friday night plans kept a few people away. That said, it turned into a really good evening and thankfully the weather behaved itself for us! 🎯

Great to see some new faces joining us too. Always nice to welcome new archers onto the line and see everyone enjoying themselves.

Perth Archery Club was well represented across both days and bowstyles at the Scottish Tour this weekend! 🎯

Hot, breezy conditions kept everyone on their toes, but there was some great shooting in both qualification rounds and head-to-heads.

Plenty of sunscreen was applied… although a few archers still came home looking slightly more “target face red” than planned ☀️😂

A brave chicken even attempted to join the competition which caused much hilarity!

Overall, a cracking weekend. Well done everyone

Warm one on the range tonight! 🎯

Managed to get everything packed away just before the rain started… along with what felt like a million midges 😅

Good shooting all round, apart from one arrow point deciding to stay behind in the target! Cue the metal detector coming out for a full-scale recovery mission 😂

Big good luck to everyone competing in Stage One of the Scottish Tour this weekend - shoot well, enjoy it, and may all your kit come home in one piece! 🏹

Rumour has it that Perth Archery Club members Annabel and David may soon need a bigger house… or at least a trophy room! 🏹🏆

David & Annabel were off again - this time to the forests near Galashiels for the Scottish Bowhunter Championships.

Huge congratulations to Annabel for setting a new Scottish record on Saturday (by around 50 points!) before going on to claim gold on Sunday. 🥇

David was also amongst the medals, securing silver after trying the longbow in the forest for the very first time. 🥈

A brilliant family achievement - well done to both!

🏹 What a brilliant day at the Perth & Kinross Disability Sport Fair City Games Archery Championships! It was fantastic to welcome archers from across Scotland to Gannochy Sports Pavilion alongside Perth Archery Club and Scottish Archery.

A huge thank you goes to all the volunteers whose time, encouragement and hard work helped make the event such a success. Events like this simply wouldn’t happen without the dedication and support of volunteers behind the scenes.

Congratulations to all of the medal winners and to every archer who took part - the standard of shooting, determination and sportsmanship on display throughout the day was fantastic to see.

Great shooting, great atmosphere and wonderful to see so many people enjoying archery together in the sunshine ☀️🏹
