Celebrating Göran Kropp, a true icon of Nordic exploration.

30 years ago today, his incomparable solo journey reached its peak – when he climbed Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen, after cycling all the way from Sweden to Nepal, before riding back home to Sweden.

Kitted in Haglöfs gear, Göran planned to achieve big things with small funds.

"Imagine just getting up in the morning, walking out the door, cycling to Everest, and climbing to the top. Then, coming back home after a year, park the bike outside your house, go inside, take a bath, sit in your favorite armchair with a glass of milk, and listen to Sade."

Today, we remember Sweden's most daring explorer. And his truly one-of-a-kind personality, always remaining curious, courageous, and genuine on his quest to explore the greatest playground ever made.
