🌟 Meet the Team — Paul, Run Leader! 🏃‍♂️

Paul started running in 2021 with a Couch to 5K alongside his wife. She stopped… but Paul kept going! 😂

He fell in love with both running & the amazing community around it. As a Run Leader, Paul loves seeing members achieve their goals & grow in confidence.

One of his proudest moments was representing EDRC at the London Marathon & achieving a PB! 👏

Away from running, Paul enjoys the gym & supporting his son at football.

Thanks for everything you do for EDRC, Paul! ❤️

🏆🥇 EAST DURHAM RUNNING CLUB — 2026 NORTH EAST CLUB OF THE YEAR! 🥇🏆

1st place. Club of the Year. And for the third year in a row! 🥹

This award belongs to every single person who makes EDRC what it is, our coaches, run leaders, committee, welfare team, volunteers and, of course, every member who turns up, gets involved, supports someone else, welcomes the new person and wears our colours with pride.

We started this club in 2022 with a simple ambition: to do things a little differently. To create somewhere where running was about people first - community, friendship, support, opportunity and becoming the best version of yourself, whatever your pace or starting point.

And here we are. North East Club of the Year. Again!

A special congratulations to Kaye Johns, Mari-Louisa Wotton and Chris Watson-Pipe, who were also recognised with the Unsung Hero of the Year awards! 🏆👏

So incredibly well deserved. Your time, dedication and everything you contribute to EDRC make a real difference, often in ways that people don't always see. It's fantastic to see that commitment recognised, and I'm sure everyone in the club will join me in saying a massive thank you.

This is about so much more than running. It’s about the friendships formed, the confidence built, the barriers broken and the people who have found somewhere they truly belong.

Stick that one in the trophy cabinet! 🏆😂

WE ARE EDRC. 🖤🩶🤍

🖤🩶🤍 What a lovely day at Northgate Insurance Services’ Wellbeing Day this week! 🖤🩶🤍

We loved having the opportunity to showcase East Durham Running Club and share a little bit about what our club is all about.

A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to the EDRC stall — the photos, T-shirts, medals and running journey stories really helped bring the club to life. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A special thank you to Jill Bower for the lovely idea of giving staff seeds to grow 🌱 — such a thoughtful way to promote wellbeing.

And thank you to Mari-Louisa Wotton for going along to talk about the health and wellbeing benefits of being part of a running club.

Thanks Stacey Brewer for the invitation to meet the Northgate team hopefully some will be joining us at one of our sessions soon. 😊
