An absolute pleasure to lead the beautiful through a private session this morning as she leaves us to focus on her wedding preparations. Whilst we are sad to see her go, we wish her a gorgeous wedding day and all the best for her future! No doubt we will continue to see her in the studio in the coming months 💜💜

Really interesting (and important) to see this being highlighted in the media 👇

As Pilates continues to grow in popularity, it’s more important than ever to understand the difference that high-quality training and experience makes when it comes to both safety and results.
At The Pilates Room, we are deeply committed to maintaining the highest professional standards. Every one of our instructors is BASI trained, completing a minimum of 500 hours of comprehensive education. This isn’t just a starting point — it’s the foundation of a career built on knowledge, precision, and care.
Beyond that, our team undertakes ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD), ensuring their skills remain current, their knowledge continues to expand, and their teaching reflects the latest understanding in movement, rehabilitation, and performance.
We’re also proud that studio owner, Catherine Mould, is a member of the Pilates Teachers Association — an organisation that has been actively advocating for stronger regulation within the Pilates industry for many years. This is something we strongly support, as clearer standards ultimately help protect clients and uphold the integrity of the profession.
Choosing a Pilates studio isn’t just about convenience — it’s about trusting someone with your body.
Training, experience, and a commitment to continued learning truly matter.

Pilates is so much more than just the reformer — it’s a full system built across a range of apparatus.
On Friday, I joined Leah’s semi-private mixed equipment class, and it reminded me why I love this practice so much. Over the past few months, my own practice has taken a back seat due to health challenges and illness in the family. It’s not where I’d like to be, but sometimes life happens.
Coming back, I’ve definitely felt weaker and a little out of sync with my form — but taking that first step back made a huge difference. I already feel stronger, both physically and mentally.
If you’ve drifted away from your practice and are thinking about returning, this is your sign. You’ll be supported every step of the way as you rebuild your strength and confidence.
And if you’re ready to try something new, Leah’s mixed equipment session is a fantastic place to start.

‘Wild west’ reformer pilates boom is causing rise in injuries, experts warn
Lack of regulation for specialist classes leaves UK fitness enthusiasts at risk, say professional bodies
06/04/2026
This week, an article in The Guardian highlighted the rise in Reformer Pilates and the current lack of regulation in the UK. While it’s fantastic to see Pilates growing in popularity, it also raises important questions about how easily instructors can become certified.
At The Pilates Room, we’re committed to the highest standards of training and client care. All of our instructors have completed a minimum of 500 hours of training with BASI to qualify. Our studio owner, Catherine, has advanced to Honours level with BASI and is a member of The Pilates Teacher Association.
Our team also regularly undertakes continued professional development across a range of specialist areas, including pre- and postnatal Pilates, injury rehabilitation, menopause, scoliosis, biomechanics and osteoporosis. Collectively the team have 1000s of hours of experience and knowledge.
Creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment is at the heart of what we do. That’s why we require every client to complete either a 1:1 induction or a 4-week beginners course before joining regular sessions.
Our focus is simple: to help you move better, prevent injury, and build strength and mobility through precise, mindful movement.
