Operating as usual
Reformer Pilates is a class based on a machine called the Reformer. It's a series of exercises, stretches and mobilisation done using the machine. Its different to a gym sessions;
- There is no breaks, its an hour of breathing, flowing and moving.
- It requires you to concentrate while you coordinate your breathing with your movement.
- The focus isn't the amount of reps or sets you do but the quality of each and every movement.
- Its 1 hour to fully focus and connect with yourself.

Let's talk intuition ✨
We have different senses such as smell, touch and taste but something we all also have is intuition (Gut feeling). Now this is a superpower because your intuition will tell you when something doesn't feel right, it can also tell you when someone is being dishonest. Unfortunately due to modern society and our fast pace lives we are rapidly losing touch with ourselves resulting in society being less intuitive. There are a number of things you can do to help with your intuition, here are just a few;
- Pilates or any exercise requiring you to focus
- Meditate or Pray
- Spend time in nature

Refresh Retreat 2020 was a blast, don't miss weekend 11th March 2020, its going to be mega 😊
Check in to our beautiful home for the weekend was not until 4pm however we met at 11am ready to explore the sites of cotswold via bike. We stopped at a fancy pub for lunch during our 32k journey to break the ice and introduce ourselves.
To improve on previous years we looked at how we can boost the experience by offering more for the mind and spirit aswell as all the exercise for the body. The focus of the retreat seemed to be about breathe, its benefits, correct breathing and breathing exercises.
We started every morning early with Wim Hoff's guided breathing techniques before heading out for a stroll amongst nature and beautiful lakes watching the sunrise and listening to the birds.
The day was filled with optional activities including Reformer Pilates, Boxing, Runs and Yoga. We dedicated Sunday afternoon to the on-site spa and took full advantage of some well deserved relaxation.
Reception is not great on the estate so you totally disconnect from the outside world while you focus on yourself and all things good for self.
In the evenings we watched interesting short video clips such as benefits of meditation, or correct breathing to sparke interesting and thought provoking conversations, dinner is always lavish with a glass of prosecco and some funny stories being told.
All 3 Retreats have been wonderful and highlights the benefits of taking time for you and spending time and effort on things that edify and nurture the mind, soul and spirit.

Gabrielle discovered Pilates after undergoing corrective surgery for scoliosis in her late teens. It wasn’t until a decade later that she truly found Pilates and discovered first-hand the difference it can make to your physical and mental wellbeing.
Having always been a sporty and active person, this new found strength and mobility was a revelation and lead Gabrielle to undertake a comprehensive teacher training programme with the Physiotherapy and Pilates Rehabilitation Centre in Clevedon, North Somerset. The course was affiliated with Alan Herdman, a giant in the Pilates world and the man credited with bringing Pilates to the UK in the 1970s.
Her training was highly remedial, covering all aspects of mat work to advanced equipment work and included physical and postural conditions, such as back/ neck pain, Scoliosis, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, Pregnancy, as well as neurological conditions, such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.
Since qualifying, Gabrielle has worked and assisted in a variety of studios encompassing 1:1 and group equipment classes, mat classes and faster paced group reformer sessions. She has taught a diverse range of clients, from highly active individuals with a performance focus, to those looking for postural improvements, general strength and conditioning, body confidence, rehabilitation and specialist groups, such as pre/ post-natal.
Away from the studio Gabrielle loves to spend time being active outdoors. She enjoys long walks, running, surfing, climbing, cold water swimming and gardening, whatever the weather! And of course frequent Pilates practice. She also loves to cook, specifically fragrant curries full of spice, learned from her time living in Bali, Indonesia.
Gabrielle brings energy and enthusiasm to her teaching and is on a mission to help others improve their physical and mental health. She believes through purposeful practice, connecting body and mind, that everyone is able to improve their posture, mobility, strength, and wellbeing, no matter what level they are starting from.
