Match Report - 07/09/2025 Baden Hall Fishery - Mallards Pool

8 Fished.
Winning weight 53lb 13oz.
Winning method: Pole far margin, feeding on bottom with pellet.

A hard days fishing for all, except the winner! Previously fished the same pool back in May with similar difficulties. Unfortunately, the recent hot weather meant our original pool (Doughnut) was not available to fish. And the heavy rain and thunderstorms mid-match didn't help.

Also, a new P.B of 9lb 13oz for common carp for the winner during the match.

Shropshire Anglers currently has a small number of membership vacancies.

We match fish every 3 weeks between April and October and hold monthly winter matches between November and March. Our matches are no pools matches (no winnings). We fish for fun, experience, learn off each other and to have a good time without any pressure.

Majority of matches are based within Shropshire, and within an hours drive of Shrewsbury.

If you are interested in match fishing, not have any pressure to compete, membership fees to basically cover pool bookings and to have an enjoyable day out, we may be right up your alley! You don't have to live in Shropshire to join, but expectation would be to attend as many matches as possible (but we do understand not everyone can always make every match).

Match report from Woodside Fishery on 16 August.

SHROPSHIRE ANGLERS
16/08 WOODSIDE POOL
8 FISHED
09:30 - 14:30

1st J. Cater, peg 10, 64-12-00, Method feeder to the island & pellet down his edge

2nd S. Powell, peg 1, 28-05-00, Pellet short

= 3rd A. Walker, peg 8, 12-11-00, Pole & pellet shallow & method feeder

= 3rd M. Norman, peg 21, 12-11-00, Pole & pellet long

Unsurprisingly, it's been difficult fishing today with the weather once again doing its best to make life difficult just in general. Interesting to note, however, that the fish look like they're gearing up to spawn having been left to their own devices for a short while, which could be the result of the venue being rested all week πŸ€” Who knows πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Either way, it's fished weird today. The fish were there, but just didn't want to know. As soon as the nets were out the water, they swarmed in πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
