Happy Easter to all of our wonderful dance families, I hope you have an eggs-cellent weekend together, & enjoy lots & lots of chocolate & hot cross buns! ❤❤

Throwback Thursday- our 2012 show, 'A Night At The Movies' was my first show as Principal & Owner of the school, & it was the most magical experience. I loved every minute of it. Our shows have continued to get better & better, but this one will always have a special place in my heart. Some of the Pre-Primaries from this show are now our seniors in our upcoming show! I was also secretly pregnant with my first daughter at the time, so it was doubly special! ❤

As we are now busy rehearsing for our upcoming show, we are now closing our trial books for the time being. However, we are still taking children into our pre-school & year r level classes, & adults, so if you have a little dancer who is looking to take their first steps in dance, or an adult wanting to join us, please register for a trial below. We can't wait to meet you. ❤

The reviews are in- Ali Baba was such a massive success! A wickedly funny musical with jokes for the whole family, it was a brilliant experience for everyone involved. ❤
Fancy doing it all over again in 2023?? Then add Sunday 2nd April 2023 to your diaries! The theatre is booked, & I am already looking at scripts! Can't wait! ❤
Tutu Tuesday!
For parents of our smallest dancers, did you know that we have senior helpers that go onstage with them? Our helpers are with your little ones in class every week, & will look after them while they wait to go onstage, guide them around whilst onstage so that everyone knows what to do, & then help to guide them back to our amazing chaperones once their moment in the spotlight is over! They're in safe hands!
Here is Molly, in our 2016 'Treading The Boards' show. Molly is my eldest daughter (now 9!!), & is not the most confident child, but has now done multiple performances & shows- they have been really helpful in helping her manage her worries, & building her confidence. If you have a nervous child, don't worry, we will look after them, & we will be bursting with pride, just like you, when they have their moment onstage. ❤
It's nearly show term!! Over the next few weeks, I'll be putting some posts up to give you some guidance on what your dancer needs for their moment in the spotlight!
First up, ballet. If your ballerina is in our pre-school class, pre-primary, primary, grade 1 or grade 2 ballet, they will need satin ballet shoes with elastics attached, as per the picture. Please do ensure that they have genuine ballet shoes that have been fitted correctly- supermarket shoes, & those sold in sports shops are notoriously poorly fitting. You can get your little ones shoes fitted at , who will ensure that their feet look their very best! If their current shoes fit nicely, & are in good condition, you may not need to purchase new ones- satin ballet shoes can be machine washed! Don't forget to pad them out with newspaper or kitchen roll while drying, to ensure that they don't shrink!
They will also need ballet tights- I'd recommend having 2 pairs with them, just in case!
Don't forget name labels! ❤❤
Wow, what a day! I am a super proud principal right now, Roynoners have been absolutely incredible today! Brilliant performances from the entire cast, who were funny, line perfect, and sang absolutely beautifully! Every single cast member has worked so hard over the past few months, all with lines to learn (some with hundreds of lines!) multiple songs, and choreography to remember- what an achievement! They have been a pleasure to work with all day- polite, helpful and fantastically behaved- they made it an absolute joy! Thanks to Ali for chaperoning, and to Phoebe for being our prompt- we couldn't have done it without you. Well done all of you, I can't wait to do it again next year!
Huge congratulations to Miss Grace, who has singled handedly cast, rehearsed and produced the whole show- you have done an absolutely amazing job, thank you so much. As well as fantastic show, it has been an amazing experience for the students, who have loved every minute. As Grace was my student before she was my teacher, I am doubly proud right now. Enjoy a rest now, Grace- you have earned it!
Sleep well, Roynoners, you should be so proud of yourselves. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
We're here!
That's it, school's out- the end of another jam packed term! Thanks to all of our wonderful dancers & families for supporting us- it's been an incredibly busy term, with all sorts of exciting things happening, & we've loved every minute! The hard work doesn't stop for some of us, with Ali Baba & The Bongo Bandits at the Hanger Farm Arts Centre tomorrow, & rehearsals for Dance Live at the Portsmouth Guildhall continuing through the holidays...oh, & that small event that we have coming up in July- I expect we will be doing some work on that as well. 😁😁 After such an oddly quiet couple of years, it feels amazing to be so busy again!
Enjoy the break, everyone, I hope you all have a restful few weeks, & we look forward to seeing you all back from Monday 25th April. 😁
It's tomorrow!!! Good luck to our fabulous Ali Baba & the Bongo Bandits cast- you have worked so hard, & we are so proud of you!
Go out there & love every minute- you are going to smash it!! ❤
