CUP GAME V DUNBLANE

We had our annual cup game against Dunblane this afternoon. The weather was reasonably kind with only a small shower.

The game was very close with Stirling just coming out on top.

Huge thanks to the bar and kitchen staff who kept is well fed and watered.

We look forward to heading back to Dunblane next year.

GREEN AVAILABILITY

Please note that we have an additional touring team fixture this year on Sunday 28th June at 2pm. This will mean the green is unavailable that afternoon for ties!

PETER SMITH MEMORIAL LEAGUE

Unfortunately it was two defeats this week for our gents teams.

The home team narrowly missed out 13 to 14 against Bridge of Allan.

The away team fell 10 19 to Spittalmyre.

Good effort lads!

Best of luck to Willie who has been selected to play in the International Assessment Weekend at Ayr this weekend.

We are so proud of you Willie. Play well!

👏 International Assessment Weekend Attendees Confirmed

Following the conclusion of this year’s Podium Open events, Bowls Scotland is pleased to confirm the players and directors who have progressed to the 2026 International Assessment Weekend.

Taking place at the National Centre for Bowling, Ayr on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June, a total of 92 players and directors will be involved across the Men’s, Women’s and Para programmes.

Congratulations to everyone invited to attend, and best of luck for the next stage of the selection process.

On Friday night our gents continue their campaign in the Peter Smith Memorial League. The fixtures are:

Home v Bridge of Allan
Away v Spittalmyre

On Saturday we have our annual friendly against Dunblane at home. Selected team is pictured. Please let Tony know ASAP if you are unable to play.

DUMFRIES FRIENDLY

Last Sunday we travelled down to Dumfries for our annual friendly.

We were very lucky with the weather and it was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of bowls. The result was incredibly close after drawing in shots and rinks won, it came down to the number of ends won. Dumfries just edging it this year.

Huge thanks to Dumfries for their hospitality. The soup on arrival was sublime and the buffet meal after the game was fantastic.

We look forward to welcoming Dumfries back to Stirling next year.

GENTS SCOTTISH CHAMPIONSHIPS

Unfortunately on Tuesday night, our Singles, Pairs and Fours were all defeated.

This afternoon, our senior gents fours were also defeated.

Congratulations to Sandy who has progressed through to the semi finals of the singles next week. He plays Clackmannan (A) at Borestone.

FAMILY FUN DAY

Many thanks to all who attended the Family Fun Day yesterday afternoon. To our members who gave their time and donations for the tombola and cake and candy stall, a big thanks.

It was a little quieter than last year, weather forecast not helping, however we are delighted to have raised £220 for Strathcarron Hospice, a very worthwhile cause.
