One of the biggest misconceptions around fat loss is that you need to starve yourself to get results.
In reality, successful fat loss is built through consistency, and not aggressively cutting calories.
This is where most people make mistakes by;
- Slashing calories too aggressively
- Trying to lose weight as quickly as possible
- Doing endless cardio
- Cutting out all foods they enjoy
Approaches like this might work temporarily, but most people can't sustain them long-term
What I see happen all the time with these approaches is;
- Energy drops
- Motivation disappears
- Training performance suffers
- Old habits return
- And cravings increase
That's why I focus on;
* Structure
* Calorie awareness
* Adequate protein
* Sustainable habits
* Realistic training
* And consistency over time
Fat loss should improve your health and confidence, not make you feel miserable and tired
That's also the approach behind my coaching and nutrition plans
I don't believe in extreme crash diets or unrealistic diets people can't follow or sustain.
My goal is to help clients.

Stay consistent
Enjoy training

WHY I BELIEVE STRENGTH TRAINING IS ONE OF THE BEST INVESTMENTS YOU CAN MAKE IN YOURSELF
As someone with a BSc in Sport & Exercise Science, an MSc in Strength & Conditioning, and over 35 years of training experience, I've seen fitness trends come and go.
One thing has remained constant:
Strength matters.
When most people think about exercise, they think about losing weight or burning calories. But strength training offers so much more than that.
It helps preserve muscle mass as we age, supports bone health, improves mobility, increases confidence, and makes everyday life easier.
Now in my 50s, my focus isn't just on looking good. It's about staying strong, capable and healthy for the years ahead.
I want to be able to train hard, move well and enjoy life for as long as possible.
That's why strength training remains the foundation of my own training programme.
The good news is that you don't need to be a bodybuilder or athlete to benefit.
