As promised, the setting team whipped around the whole gym again today, backfilling the walls with MORE climbs!

You'll find that most of the new tags are between a 1-4 on our grading system, but there are a couple of higher grades up to a 6 in there too 👀 All NZAC National Indoor Bouldering Series tags have now been swapped out to the regular Uprising tag system - let us know if you agree with the numbers the setters have chosen 😉

TopLogger has not yet been updated with today's new climbs (it's been a big week!), but they'll be up there next Tuesday.

⏳ Speaking of which ... If you've been wanting to try Boulder 4 from the Women's Finals or Boulder 3 from the Men's Finals, best get to it asap - the Boat will be reset next Tuesday!

Setter appreciation post 🫶 Here's (most of!) the team who brought you the final round of NZAC National Indoor Bouldering Series 2026!! 🙌

We were stoked to have Victor Fleutre - International Head Routesetter from Canada - join Mark, Christina, Stu, Carole, Felix, Sefton, Troy, and Maayan, to create probably the BEST NiBS boulders that Uprising has ever seen!

You'd think that after a huge week they'd be done, but there's no rest for the wicked ... today Victor led a development workshop for our setters, so you will notice some extra blocs up on the walls 👀

All of the NiBS main round and finals problems are still up, and tagged as they were on Friday and Saturday 👉 swipe to see how the tag system works! There are also some new comp simulation boulders for our Youth Academy team to train on.

The setting team are taking a break tomorrow, but will be back on Thursday to fill the gaps with some slightly easier problems - in the meantime, we've got basically a WHOLE GYM of new climbs, so plenty to keep you entertained 😁

All NiBS blocs are on TopLogger , so give them a crack and let us know what you think before the tags are swapped back to our regular grade system....

The FINAL round of NiBS, the National Indoor Bouldering Series lands in Christchurch at Uprising next Friday and Saturday 28-29 August!

NiBS is Aotearoa's biggest annual bouldering event, and is not to be missed - Rounds 1-3 in Wellington, Dunedin, and Auckland saw sellout crowds, and Christchurch is on track to be the same.

New for this year is the Friday Fun Round, a relaxed Friday evening session open to anyone and ideal for first-timers or anyone wanting a low-pressure climbing experience. Plus, you'll get to try all of the boulders while they're fresh 😉

If you’re still not sure about it but you’d like to come cheer on your mates, spectators are always welcome! You’ll definitely want to be there from 7:30pm on Saturday to catch Finals 🏆

Stakes are high, with the Christchurch event being the last chance for competitors to earn points and be crowned the 2026 Series Champions!

👉 To get the gym ready, there will of course be some disruption to normal operations next week as the route setters work their magic - please swipe across for all the deets, and let us know if you're unsure of anything!
