More than just a gym ❤️
One of the things I love about our club is that it’s so much more than exercise. The next couple of months in the club we have encouraged our members to share with us just some small things they would like to achieve.
For some, it’s about building strength, working on mobility and improving fitness. For others it’s simply about moving more, feeling better or just having the confidence to work out at a different time of day, try a new class or just try something new!
This morning we headed out with one of our members to show her where Rapaki Track was. What started as a nice early morning workout also became a lovely reminder of why we do what we do!
The scenery was beautiful, we had a few laughs and bit of huffing and puffing but it was so nice to be able to show her something else that she can add to her gym routine.
Sometimes helping someone achieve their goal isn’t about always adding more weights to the bar or pushing harder in a workout.
Sometimes it’s just about walking alongside them, encouraging them, and showing them that every little step forwards matters. 🙏🏽
As a team seeing our members grow in confidence, find enjoyment in movement, and just achieve things they didn’t think they could do is incredibly rewarding.
That’s the sort of thing that makes us smile! It’s the kind of community we are building at Bodyfix. ❤️
A place where people are seen and supported no matter where they are on their journey.

Stop idolising your past self. 🥴🤦🏽♀️🤷♀️
Comparing yourself to your past self is just as unhealthy for everyone around you than comparing yourself to anyone else.
Our bodies are supposed to change over time. We are not going to look the same as we did when we were 18.
Release the need to compare ourselves now, to photos we took 10, 20, 30 years ago or pre-kids - when we probably 'cut down' before we went to look our best, and had a tan which made us look leaner. 🥴
Let go of that comparison, & choose to enjoy your life now and accept that your body will fluctuate over time all while you can still care for your health and fitness.
Like so many of you out there my body has been through a lot. I haven’t always been kind to it, my weight has gone up and down, I’ve birthed & fed a little human, there have been times when I have neglected it but 🤷♀️I am so okay where my body is now.
I am fit, healthy and active and I have a lot to be grateful for. 🤗
So we can either be sad and miserable, unfit, sedatory and unhealthy OR we can choose to move & nourish our bodies, stop comparing ourselves and just get our s**t together and get on with it. 🙋🏽♀️🥰
And believe me if we choose the latter it can and will most certainly will have a profound effect on our journey to living a longer happier life.

Ain’t that the truth, it can be so bloody hard some days! 🥴🙈
But like we say in our camp, keep it simple always.
Our fitness journeys do not need perfection.
Progress is not always linear. It takes constant correcting and a lot of zigzagging along the way! So be ok with that!
The truth is, we will all skip workouts because we get busy, we will all eat and drink more than we should at times, there will be days where we will struggle to get up 🙄 and we definitely won’t always be motivated to exercise. 🥴🙈
Our fitness journey will never be perfect and won’t always go to plan but it’s important no matter what, just get up, show up and never give up.
And half arsed is better than no arse 👌🏿💯

Thursday put on pink skies for our Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Foundation NZ breakfast 💗
After tallying up the last of our ticket and club donations and adding them to the donation page we have together raised just over $3000 this month for this incredible cause!
A fundraiser so close to many of our hearts, a huge thankyou goes to all of our gym whanau for their contributions, kind words to eachother and stories shared 🙏🏻
Our Pink Ribbon Breakfast came together with the help of our local gym community;

Mini muffins: Victoria food service catering Co (IG)
Coffee: The Speedy Bean
Balloons: Mercedes and Jess (those two are thinking of going into business "Mooos Ballooons" has a certain ring to it!?)

Every day, we have two choices….
To focus on what’s wrong or to focus on what’s right.
If we can choose gratitude, joy and to see the beauty in the little things, life will become more peaceful and this will help us to keep moving forward! ❤️

Mother’s Day carries so many different emotions for each and every one of us.
There will always be those days where we feel warm, connected and meaningful and then there are the days where we feel exhausted, reactive, messy and the day leave us feeling full of guilt. 😔
But we need to remember…..
We will all have bad days, great days, normal days, overwhelming days, perfect days, trying days, super mum days, just being a mum days. 🌸
We are here to remind each and everyone of you out there ‘YOU ARE ALL AMAZING’💯

I was so excited about initiating him into the world of Net banking.
He asked ''If I do that, I wont have to step out of the house?
“Yes, yes''! I said. I told him how even grocery can be delivered at door now and how amazon delivers everything!
His answer left me tongue-tied.
He said ''Since I entered this bank today, I have met four of my friends, I have chatted a while with the staff who know me very well by now.
You know I am alone...this is the company that I need. I like to get ready and come to the bank. I have enough time, it is the physical touch that I crave.
Two years back I got sick, The store owner from whom I buy fruits, came to see me and sat by my bedside and cried.
When your Mom fell down few days back while on her morning walk. Our local grocer saw her and immediately got his car to rush her home as he knows where I live.
Would I have that 'human' touch if everything became online?
Why would I want everything delivered to me and force me to interact with just my computer?
I like to know the person that I'm dealing with and not just the 'seller'. It creates bonds of Relationships.

Thoughts…….💭
👉🏽We hear and see so many people walking through our doors who haven’t exercised for years, they have been too scared to try anything.
👉🏽Fitness isn’t just about muscles or endurance, it’s one of the most common ways people practice facing discomfort.
👉🏽Whether it’s lifting a bit heavier, running a wee bit further, trying anew class, or just showing up on those days you don’t feel like it, those moments build a kind of quiet resilience.
👉🏽Without the courage to attempt those things that resilience doesn’t get trained.
Being at a gym is a safe arena for courage. ❤️
