Give Wheelchair Tennis a Go! 🎾

Tennis NZ & Parafed Waikato are excited to invite you and your whānau to a Wheelchair Tennis Have-a-Go Session at Lugton Park Tennis Centre on Saturday 12 September from 10:00am-11:30am.

Whether you're new to the sport or simply keen to give it a try, this fun session is a chance to learn the basics, get active, and connect with others.

What you need to know:
📍 Lugton Park Tennis Centre (Outdoor Hard Courts) 60 Old Farm Road, Hamilton East
🎾 Tennis rackets and sports wheelchairs provided
🧢 Bring a drink bottle and hat
🌧️ Wet weather plan - inside court to be used if wet
🎁 Spot prizes up for grabs!

We're also pleased to offer subsidised ongoing coaching opportunities for participants who would like to continue playing after the session.

Only two rounds in and the league is already proving to be a huge success.

Waikato Tennis Trust is looking for passionate, community minded people to join the WTT Board as Trustees.

Love Tennis Sunday 13th 2026 is your chance to come along and try out everything that the club can offer.

Throughout the day we will have junior coaching, adult give it a go sessions, fitness and drills, social tennis, games and prizes.

Upcoming Court Resurfacing Project @ Waikato Tennis Centre

Waikato Tennis Trust is delighted to have received a grant from Trust Waikato to resurface five courts at the Waikato Tennis Centre:
• Indoor Courts 1, 2 and 3
• Outdoor Courts 8 and 9

Plexipave is currently aiming to begin the work during the October school holidays.
The timing will be weather dependent, particularly for the outdoor courts, with approximately one week of suitable conditions required to complete the full project.

Some disruption to court access will be unavoidable while the resurfacing is underway.
We will work closely with Plexipave to minimise this and will share confirmed dates and court access information once the schedule has been finalised.

We are incredibly excited about this significant facility upgrade and look forward to presenting the newly resurfaced courts to our tennis community.
