💡 Tuesday Tip: Supporting Sensory Avoiders 💙

Some children are more sensitive to sound, touch, light, or movement — and may feel overwhelmed in busy or unpredictable environments. These children are often referred to as sensory avoiders.

A few simple supports can help them feel more regulated and comfortable:
🌿 Offer quiet, calm breaks throughout the day
💡 Use softer lighting when possible
🧩 Keep routines predictable and simple
👐 Provide gentle, controlled sensory input (like deep pressure or soft textures)
🎯 Give choices to help them feel more in control

At We Rock The Spectrum, our goal is always to create a space where every child — no matter how they process the world — feels safe, supported, and able to play at their own pace 💙

We have extended our hours on Tuesdays so we are now open M-F from 9:30am-6pm.
