For those who may not know. Judi Sheppard Missett was the trailblazer who created Jazzercise. A few fun facts:
💛 Jazzercise was invented because women kept quitting dance class.
They didn't want to be dancers. They wanted the fun—and fitness—of dancing.
💛A banker told Judi her Jazzercise was a fad. Seven years later, the bank was gone. Jazzercise is still here. [That's 57 years, if you're a counter.]
💛 When Judi created Jazzercise, a married woman couldn't get a credit card in her own name. Jazzercise started in 1969. Women had to wait until 1974 when the law changed.
Last but not least ... Judi keeps getting inducted with the legends.
In 1992, alongside Jane Fonda, Jack LaLanne, Jackie Sorenson, and Kenneth Cooper
In 2005, along with Jane Fonda, Jack LaLanne, Kenneth Cooper, Arnold Schwarzenegger
Another icon for the 2027 class of the HFA Hall of Fame!! ✨
Judi Sheppard Missett founded Jazzercise in 1969, and the world of fitness and entrepreneurship (especially for women) has never been the same.
