Not too long ago, Hannah had never touched a barbell…and she wouldn’t run unless she was being chased.
Then a recommendation from family got her through the doors at Suffer City.
Her first day was a doozy; but by the end of the first week, the workouts got her hooked. Then…the community changed her life.
What started as “trying something new” evolved into a complete transformation. Hannah immersed herself into the community and soon joined our Admin Team.
She carried on…learning more, setting goals and then crushing them; and eventually she stepped onto the competition floor.
And for the first time in her life, Hannah identified as an athlete. In two years, she had gone from “trying out her first workout” to competing in one of the most challenging hybrid fitness races.
And this led to Hannah considering helping others undergo their own transformation; and just over a year after joining our team, Hannah became a Coach.
Now, as a certified HYROX coach and fitness trainer extraordinaire, she leads classes and opens the doorway for others to through toward their achievement.
Additionally, she’s made these changes while completing her last two years of university and graduating from A.S.U.
And even with studying for and passing finals, completing end of year projects, attending internships and fighting for a career in the corporate world, she’s qualified for HYROX World Championships in Stockholm, Sweden this June.
Hannah is proof that massive transformation doesn’t happen overnight. It happens through consistency. Through discipline. And an unwavering spirit that never quits.

Joey adds to the high-IQ training environment of Suffer City with her blend of knowledge, intensity, and professional experience to each class she coaches.
Armed with a degree in Kinesiology from Cal State East Bay and over a decade of coaching experience, her sessions are rooted in both science and real-world performance.
Yeah, her CV is outfitted with numerous accreditations from NESTA, TRX, and she is a HYROX Certified Trainer — but more important than than novelty accolades, Joey lives the life of a high performance human day-in and day-out.
As a seasoned HYROX Pro athlete with seven races completed, she understands firsthand what high-level preparation, pacing, and resilience actually require.
Her coaching style is equal parts educator and motivator with a heavy sprinkle of discipline and accountability.
Whether you need a technical adjustment or a deeper belief in yourself, Joey has the prescription.
But don’t be fooled, just below all the discipline is a wild child who knows how to bring the fun...
