Tips to make your workout more effective.
1. Limit the amount of time you have to do your workout. Spending longer in the gym isnβt necessarily going to benefit you (unless you are training for endurance). Will more time just lower the intensity you might need to work at? Are you spending time on your phone or chatting between sets or exercises? Set your watch and get it done!

Classes resumed last week, and for those new to 24fit, here is the rundown.
Monday 6am βthe Programβ - a list of exercises in succession done at an individuals own pace (or modification) with assistance and encouragement.
Tuesday 6am βStrengthβ - a focused workout designed to make you stronger.
Thursday 6am βHigh Intensityβ - get your heart rate up with cardio intervals mixed with simple body weight movements at a pace thatβs right for you.
Friday 6am βMotionβ - a combination of yoga/Pilates stretching balance and core strength with a low intensity but still challenging.
Each class goes for about half a hour, and can be modified to the individual (you donβt need to be fit first before you start them).
All classes are free for members.

Cold this morning? You might need to warmup!
Most warmups donβt take very long, just two-three minutes, five minutes tops. To benefit us the most a warm-up should work the same muscles we will be engaging during the main workout - they should include lighter exercises or a toned down version of the training ahead. A good warmup should not only engage muscles, mobilize joints, increase heart rate, blood flow and breathing, but also prepare the mind so that focus can be put into the workout.
Examples
If your workout is running, your best warm-up is a light jog.
If you are doing martial arts training a warm-up should also include a few light kicks and punches.
If you are doing bodyweight workouts basic body (neck, arms, torso, legs) rotations will get your blood flowing.
If you are about to lift weights, do a few lifts with very light weights.
Also, once you have finished the warmup, start the workout, otherwise you'll get cold again!
When performing bicep curls, no matter how you are doing them, try to feel the "squeeze" in the bicep. This can make sure that you are activating muscle, rather than just moving a weight from point A to point B with momentum rather than strength. Want to know more? Just ask πͺπ
