​Mark has given so much to grassroots cricket across the West, including right here in our local community. We’re so lucky to have passionate legends like him keeping community sport thriving.

We are very proud to advise that our very own Mark Keating ( Treasurer WRJCA) was awarded Life Membership at Victorian Metropolitan Cricket Union AGM — recognising over 50 years as a player and administrator in the western suburbs.

From Williamstown Colts and Gellibrand Cricket Club, to Treasurer and President roles across WDCA and WRJCA (where he’s our inaugural Treasurer), to VMCU President since 2013 — Mark’s contribution to grassroots cricket in the West has been nothing short of tireless.

In 2021 he was also recognised by Cricket Victoria for 50 years of service. Special mention to Deb Keating and family, who’ve supported him every step of the way.

Aoife Hayden was selected for Cricket Ireland’s Women’s U 19 Youth Squad in July this year.

Aoife started her cricket journey as a GCC Milo cricketer whilst her brother Cormac was playing as a junior. They left Australia in 2017 to live in Dublin.

Please join us in welcoming Jayden Borges to the Gellibrand community for the upcoming season.

Jayden is a right handed opening batter who bowls right arm off breaks, currently playing for Brooke CC in the Norfolk Premier League. Jayden recently made his Minor Counties debut for Norfolk CCC against Kent. Jayden has scored 493 runs this season and taken 24 wickets. He looking forward to being in Melbourne this summer and getting to know the people at the club.

All junior parents will have received an email last week asking for new polo requirements and sizing to be sent in. Please get in any orders and sizing by this Friday.

For our seniors and juniors, our online store is currently open for orders of new playing, training and social uniforms for the upcoming season. If you need something new for this season please get the orders in from the online store by the end of the week!

A group of our Under 15 players recently visited Peter at Carnovale Pharmacy; a long-standing sponsor of our junior cricket program.

It was great to see the players in-store, getting to know one of our biggest supporters, and seeing first-hand the great products and services on offer.

Whether it’s for your flu shot, to fill a script or to grab something off the shelf, please make sure you head in to see Peter and the team at the corner of Somerville and Williamstown Roads. Open 7am to midnight, 7 days a week!
