Some things I've witnessed over the last 14 years...
I've watched women lose 100 pounds.
I've watched women leave marriages that no longer served them.
I've watched women survive cancer.
I've watched women become mothers and grandmothers.
I've watched women walk through our doors knowing no one and leave with lifelong friendships.
I've watched women arrive in tears and leave laughing.
I've watched women who were convinced they couldn't exercise become some of the strongest women in the room.
I've watched women discover confidence they didn't know they had.
I've watched women stop apologizing for taking up space.
I've watched women realize they were capable of far more than they believed.
What most people don't see is what happened behind the scenes.
They don't see the 22-hour renovation days.
They don't see the late nights painting walls, hauling equipment, building shelves, cleaning floors, assembling furniture, and trying to create a space women would love walking into.
They don't see the stress, the risk, the uncertainty, or the moments where I wondered if I had completely lost my mind.
Over the past 14 years, we have renovated four different buildings.
Four.
Every one of them was completed in timelines that left people asking how we pulled it off.
The answer is simple.
I didn't do it alone.
Some of the most incredible women I have ever met, along with their spouses, children, families, and friends, rolled up their sleeves and helped.
They painted.
They built.
They cleaned.
They carried.
They fixed things.
They moved things.
They showed up.
Again and again.
When I think about Readiness Fitness, that is what comes to mind.
Not a business.
A COMMUNITY.
A group of women who have consistently shown up for one another for 14 years.
That is something I will never stop being grateful for.

Over the last 14 years, women have rarely come through our doors because they want to lose weight.
That might be what they say at FIRST.
What they are really looking for is:
Confidence.
Energy.
Connection.
Support.
Belonging.
A place where they don't have to explain themselves.
A place where they can walk in exactly as they are.
A place where people know their name.
Of course, the workouts, movement, and gaining strength matter.
But what keeps women coming back year after year is community.
I have watched complete strangers become best friends.
I have watched women support each other through divorces, cancer diagnoses, job losses, celebrations, pregnancies, grief, and new beginnings.
That has always been the heart of Readiness.

14 years ago this week, I taught my very first Readiness Fitness class.
I wish I could tell you I was confident. I wasn't.
I was nervous. I second-guessed myself. I wondered if anyone would show up. I wondered if I was good enough. I wondered if this crazy idea of creating a fitness space just for women would actually work.
What I couldn't have imagined was what would happen over the next 14 years.
Thousands of classes.
Thousands of conversations.
Women celebrating victories, navigating heartbreak, rebuilding confidence, finding life-long friendships, reclaiming strength, and discovering they are capable of far more than they believed.
People often think fitness is about workouts.
It never was.
The workouts were simply the reason we gathered.
The real magic has ALWYAS been the WOMEN.
As we approach our 14th anniversary on June 4th, I have ahve been reflecting on where we started and everything that has happened since.

Your body didn’t suddenly stop working.
