The club was established in 1929 by a group of First World War veterans living in Assiniboia, who approached the municipality for a grant to start a curling club. The first facility was built on the east side of Banting Street behind the museum building across from Superstore. The club was established as a war memorial - hence the name, Assiniboine Memorial. CFB Tuesday Mixed Seniors League 2025/2026 Season Update 🥌

Our CFB Tuesday Mixed Seniors League had a very successful year that was defined by a focus on "fun, friendship, and just enough competition to justify a second cookie". Our league has been in existence for over 30 years and at our season windup luncheon it was a great privilege to honor four of our league's long time members and present them with Honorary Life Memberships.

Our season windup Mexican themed luncheon 🪇 and celebration was a resounding success and a wonderful way to end the season. Congratulations to both our A Side and B Side winning teams 🏆 and as well to the best dressed Mexican theme members, well done

On behalf of our League Executive thank you to all existing members for your support and to those who may be contemplating joining our CFB Tuesday Mixed Seniors, contact our league convenor (Brian Labelle) and perhaps we will see you on the pebble next year!!

Big shoutout to Team McFarlane on a strong run at Provincials in Beausejour this weekend 👏

They battled hard all the way through and finished tied for a playoff spot, just narrowly missing out on advancing based on the draw scores tiebreaker.

Proud of the effort and representation — great curling all weekend!

You won’t hear curlers in CurlManitoba’s Senior Championships telling this Assiniboine Memorial Ice Tech that he doesn’t know what is good curling ice!!!

That’s World champion third Jeff Ryan - assistant to AMCC’s main guy -Matt Rankine. I wonder how many clubs in Canada have a world champion on their ice crew.

Jeff has no aspirations to join Matt and the great cadre of Manitoba Ice Techs who have made a name at the highest levels of curling - Hans Wuthrich, Eric Montford, Greg Ewasko, Mark Shurek, Matt Rankine.

And there are a bunch of others making great ice in Manitoba clubs - Garth Reimer, Farrol Asham, Jayden Asham to name a few. Like all of them, Jeff Ryan takes a lot of pride in the quality of the ice and appreciates the compliments of the players. But he is content to play a supporting role to Matt Rankine just as he was content to support Kerry Burtnyk on the same ice those three decades ago.
