One of the most beautiful things about teaching children is witnessing them simply be.
During our aerial yoga camp, we listened to classical music and let each child become an element of the story — a fairy, a piece of nature, a feeling, a sound. From there, they created their own aerial dance through free movement, listening not only to the music, but to what it awakened inside them.
After all these years of teaching children, I still find myself completely captivated by this.
There is something almost sacred about watching a child move without wondering how they look, whether they are doing it “right”, or what anyone else thinks.
Just moving. Feeling. Imagining. Expressing.
Fully and freely.
And every time I witness it, something in me becomes very still — not quite calm, but deeply aware that I am witnessing something incredibly precious:
a human being in their innocence, completely alive, expressing themselves through movement.
Maybe this is one of the greatest gifts of movement — not teaching children how to move, but giving them a space where they can discover how they want to move. 🤍
