THE NEW PATIO IS OFFICIALLY OPEN!

After a few weeks of hard work, building dust and a fair bit of disruption, we’re delighted to say that our brand new clubhouse patio is now officially open!

On Saturday (26th September) we officially opened the new space with a little ribbon-cutting ceremony and who better to do the honours than Stan Bailey from S Bailey Landscapes!

Stan had the important job of cutting the ribbon and declaring the patio officially open… although he also had the rather dubious honour of christening the new patio by being the first person to spill a drink on it!

The old patio area has now been transformed into a much improved space that is safer, more accessible, tidier and, most importantly, more welcoming for everyone who uses our clubhouse.

It’s a significant investment for the club, but one that we believe will make a real difference to our members, players, families, volunteers and visitors for years to come.

The patio has been made possible through an RFU match funding grant, alongside money raised through the events we’ve held throughout the year.

Our 24hr Ruggerthon was a brilliant example of what Kingswood RFC can achieve when everyone pulls together. We set ourselves a £10,000 fundraising target and, thanks to the incredible efforts of everyone involved, we raised the full £10,000.

The Family Funday & C***r Festival also made a fantastic contribution, with hundreds of people coming down to enjoy the day and support the club.

This is exactly what we mean when we talk about putting our fundraising back into Kingswood RFC. The money raised through these events allows us to continue investing in our facilities and improving the club for everyone.

A special thank you must go to Stan Bailey, Scott Bailey and Mark McGarrigle from S Bailey Landscapes.

They’ve put in a huge amount of hard work over the last few weeks and the quality of their workmanship has been absolutely top class.

They’ve grafted away in all sorts of weather and have done a fantastic job transforming the area. We’re incredibly pleased with the finished result.

Thank you to everyone who has been patient while the work has been taking place. We know having a building site outside the clubhouse wasn’t ideal, but hopefully you’ll agree that the finished result has been well worth it.

It’s Saturday and there’s plenty going on down at The Big K HQ today!!!

The 1st XV are at home taking on Chipping Sodbury Rugby Football Club - ko 2:00pm, while the Spartans are also at home taking on Avonmouth Old Boys RFC 3’s - ko 2:30pm

From 1:30pm we’ll be officially opening our NEW PATIO! Come down and join us for the very important ‘ribbon cutting ceremony’ ✂️🎀

We’ll also be running a sweepstake on who will be the first person to spill a drink on it today!

Then from 5:30pm we’ll be showing Sale v Bristol in the clubhouse.

And… if you’re REALLY lucky… 👀

We might even put the England v Spain game on the big screen⚽️.

Whether you are new to rugby, returning to the game after a break, looking for a new physical & mental challenge, or looking to move clubs - come join us for a training session. Every week is an open week for newbies to come along.

We offer a genuine and proven pathway to Snr Rugby, through our pioneering transition process. We are passionate about retention!
We align Colts direction and training with Snr ethos, strategy and goals, using a collaborative Colts and Snr coaching team.
Dedicated training area, timeslot and facilities.
Sponsorship, annual tour, kit, after match food, discounted membership, etc - all part of the Colts package.
