Coaching women to get strong and find purpose in their training

‘Second skipped because I chose comfort but actually the comfort wasn’t that comfy because I‘ve been choosing comfort too often!’

The more we can question and reflect the easier it gets to be able to call out our own BS.

Comfort isn’t the enemy but be willing to leave it often to get you to where and who you want to become

Summer be summering.

Adventures, training, swimming, working, eating fresh lobster for the first time and planning for the next phase of our netball in season program 🙌🏽

Perfect mix of calm, chaos whilst trying to slow down and be more where my two feet are.

As the season starts, your training should change.

One of the biggest mistakes I see players make is trying to train exactly the same as they did in the off season.

More isn’t always better. The goal now isn’t to keep adding more work, it’s to train in a way that helps you perform well on court while staying healthy throughout the season.

1️⃣ Keep strength training
Strength training doesn’t stop because matches begin.
It’s still really important.
Strength is the foundation that helps you maintain power, stay resilient and reduce your risk of injury over a long season. The goal isn’t to chase PBs every week, but to maintain the strength you’ve worked hard to build.

2️⃣ Adjust jumps and conditioning
Don’t remove them, instead adapt them.
Training and matches already place a huge demand on your body, so your gym work should complement those demands, not compete with them.
The right amount of plyometrics and conditioning will help you maintain your athleticism without leaving you feeling flat on game day.

3️⃣ Recovery should be taken seriously
Recovery isn’t something you earn once everything else is done. It’s part of the programme.

As your training and match load increases, your recovery needs to keep up. Prioritise fuelling your body, quality sleep and giving your body what it needs before, during and after games. This will look different to pre season.

On paper, these three things sound simple.
But when you’re balancing work, life, training, matches and everything else, knowing how to fit it all together (and what to prioritise) is often the hardest part.

This is exactly why I’ve created my In Season Netball Programme.

A structured plan that takes the guesswork out of training, so you can stay strong, perform with confidence and enjoy your netball all season long.

Launching later this month 💃🏽👀

When I first got into the industry, I thought more was better. Over the years I have come to realise and understand through trial and error and actually experiencing what works, that direction and intention (and often simplification) is what drive progress.

There is nothing worse than feeling like your showing up and putting in the work, yet nothing is really changing.

If you want to get better at something, be stronger, move better in your body, then you need to make sure there is purpose behind what you are doing.

-> Knowing why you’re doing a specific exercise
-> Understanding how it is moving your needle forward
-> Being able to intentionally show up each week and know the effort is contributing to the result. This is where rinse and repeat comes I

Purpose drives progress.
I promise you that knowing your why and how, is a much more enjoyable place to be!

What’s your biggest goal right now?

It’s never black and white.

Some weeks will look and feel better than others. On the weeks where it doesn’t feel good, it doesn’t mean everything’s fallen to s**t.

Readjust and go again.

Training to be strong and resilient on the netball court is not all about chasing PB’s each session. It’s about mastering the basics to get strong.

The strongest players on the netball court are usually the ones who’ve spent months, even years, building solid foundations in the gym.

Which means
- Prioritising good technique before adding more load
- Building strength through the big movement patterns - squat, hinge, push, pull and single leg work
- Developing stability and control before chasing power
- Staying consistent, even when progress feels slow

Every strong landing, explosive jump, every powerful change of direction, contest for the ball..all starts with a foundation of strength.

The gym isn’t only about lifting heavier weights, it’s about creating a body that can produce force, absorb force, and stay resilient throughout the season.

This is what the girls are doing in our Off Season Program. Its not too late to join if you still want in!

Drop me or a message if you want more information about the program.

Build the base. Trust the process. The performance will follow.

Retreat no. three incoming…

From becoming besties on the netball court at 17, to partying like our lives depended on back in our 20s, both pursuing a career in fitness and now back in corfu to run our third retreat.

Aligned Zoi - here we go! 💃🏽💫
