If you’ve been craving a kickstart, a different plan, or just someone in your corner, now’s the perfect moment to get your session in the diary for when I’m back.

Book it while you’re in that “I deserve something just for me” mindset… before the school run, work deadlines and general life chaos try get in the way.

5 exercises, 8-10 reps, 2-3 sets: this is your upper body workout
Make sure to have ample rest between exercises and sets:

💪Shoulder press
💪Chest flye
💪Bicep curls
💪Single arm row
💪Tricep extension

All perfect for:
- Keeping your posture in check (stop that forward neck from phone scrolling!)
- Making everyday lifting easier (who doesn’t want to carry all the shopping in from the car in one go?!)
- Supporting joints as hormones shift (less clicky shoulders when you reach for anything)
- Helps you feel capable in your own skin (feel bad-ass when you lift something heavier than your teenager can!)

TIP: Aim for weights that you find the last couple of reps a bit tough. Once it’s no longer a challenge, then up those weights.

Want any other specific routines - let me know!

Enjoy😍

Here's my summer message when it comes to your health and wellbeing, and it's a simple one: 🌟Don't try to do it all. Just do the FIRST thing.🌟

Forget the big overhaul. You don't need the perfect meal plan or a new workout routine or some 10-step self-care regime you saw on your socials (am I the only one who doomscrolls?!).

Just pick ONE thing.

Why that really matters — when life gets chaotic (broken sleep, no time to yourself, days where you feel like you're on a hamster wheel), your body reads that stress the same way it'd read a real threat, and out comes the cortisol. In perimenopause we're already more sensitive to that response, which is why "just push through and do more" tends to backfire — and why one small thing you'll actually regularly do beats a big idea you'll abandon by the end of the week.

So this summer, I'm not asking you to overhaul anything. Just pick that one step that would genuinely help your day/week — a walk, a proper home-cooked meal, ten minutes with a cup of tea in total silence (whatever works for you). Then try and do that one thing on a regular basis so it becomes more of a habit - get that consistency.

That's it.

➡️And if you want more help from me (either over summer or to kickstart you in September), I would love to help you with my new 1:1 Clarity Sessions & Momentum Package — focused, no-fluff sessions built around whatever your one thing is right now (we can work out what this one thing is!)

Book a call with me to chat about the options.

🌽Midlife nutrition has become a bit… noisy.

Everyone’s taking supplements they don’t necessarily need, avoiding foods they DO need, and wondering why they still feel tired, foggy or stuck.

Here are the mistakes I see all the time:

💊Taking supplements “just because”
Aside from vitamin D, most nutrients come from food if you’re eating a balanced diet. More supplements ≠ more health.

🥑Overdoing healthy fats
Nuts, seeds, avocado, olive oil — all great.
But they’re *dense*. A handful becomes three, an avocado becomes daily, and suddenly calories are sky‑high but protein is low.

🥜Snack‑style eating
Fruit, crackers, seeds, a bit of cheese… it feels healthy, but it’s not balanced. Midlife bodies need proper meals.

🥬Undereating without realising
Small portions feel “good”, but they leave you under‑fuelled and hormonally wobbly.

🍞Carbs get unfairly blamed
Carbs support energy, sleep, mood and hormones.
Cutting them usually backfires. Yes, you might lose some weight, but you’ll be knackered and it’s so hard to maintain. Look for the right carbs!

Midlife nutrition isn’t about extremes.

It’s about balance, portions, and fuelling a body that deserves to feel better!

What do you think?

❤️One of my older clients recently said that their main objective was to keep living. And he meant REALLY living.

Where he’s enjoying his retirement and latter years. Where he’s active enough to backpack around India, to help sail a yacht around the Scottish coast and to spend quality time with friends and family doing one of the things he loves: cooking.

He doesn’t want to sit back on his laurels. He wants to stay active and healthy so that he has a full enjoyable life.

There’s no doubt that we’re an ageing population, but how many of us are going to be living these years to the full (like David) and how many are going to struggle with ill health?

It’s never too late to start looking after yourself but honestly, the sooner you start the better off you’ll be.

Come speak to me if you'd like to start futureproofing yourself!

Have you managed to find some balance or does that just feel illusive to you?

🤯With jobs, families, holidays, social engagements, caring for others and the like, it’s difficult to squeeze in time to look after your health and fitness - I honestly know, and I have a gym in my garden so you’d think it were simple for me!!🤪

Let me know how you’re getting on

💪You don’t need a fully equipped gym at home to get a good workout.

Dumbbells and kettlebells are bloody spenny! 💷Save it for the actual gyms and the PT’s to buy them. Oh and those packs where you get 3 dumbbell sets are definitely not worth it - they’re generally under 3kgs and you’re simply going to progress past them in no time!

These are bits of kit I recommend having to help you with those home routines:*

⭐A mat - so you don’t slip or mess up your flooring
⭐Resistance band - either like a TheraBand or one with handles
⭐Loop resistance band - you can also use a tied up TheraBand
⭐Small Pilates ball
⭐Rucksack filled with heavy stuff!

Let me know if you’d like to see any workouts using these items!

*To really gain traction with your strength you will still need to use weights, so these are for those in-between sessions!

Yesterday I asked you what things drain your energy and today I want to ask a follow on:

🤸♀️What boosts your energy levels?

Examples: Going for a morning walk / ticking something off your to-do list / breathwork or meditation / a big bowl of something delicious/ doing some gardening or some baking(a hobby)/ catching up with friends / hugging someone / playing with your pet

➡️If there were ONE thing you could start doing on a regular (consistent) basis what would it be?

This is all about getting into the habit of doing something. If you know it works and makes you feel better….just do it, and do it often!!

03/08/2026

🥴I have a task for you today: Identify what drains your energy!

𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: Write down what you are putting up with at home and at work to determine what might be limiting you right now.

Examples: situations/ ‘shoulds’/ other people’s or your own behaviour/ clutter/ unmet needs/ crossed boundaries/ half-finished items/ dead plants/ doom scrolling/ procrastination, eating habits/ sleep/ unresolved issues/ sitting at a desk all day…..

➡️If there was ONE THING that TOTALLY DRAINED your energy, which one would it be?

➡️Then finally, now you’ve brought attention to these drains, think of an action you could do in the next couple of days, that will help alleviate/get rid of that main drain!

Feel free to share if you wish 😊
