Chloe (Chloe Best) joined Team OB wanting to feel more confident in the gym, build muscle and change how her body looked. Although she was already active, she didn’t really feel confident in the weights area or know how to structure her own training.

Over time, that relationship with fitness completely changed. Training became something she genuinely looked forward to, and Chloe started to love progression, the buzz of hitting PBs and seeing what she could do next.

đŸ’Ș DB bench: 3kg → 14kg
đŸ’Ș Deadlift: 75kg x 8
đŸ’Ș Bodyweight barbell squat
đŸƒâ€â™€ïž First half marathon
đŸ„‡ 15 minutes off her 10-mile race time

But the thing we’re most proud of isn’t one of those numbers. It’s how much more confident she has become in herself.

Chloe once said, “I was so shy as a child, it’s amazing to see how confident I am in the gym and in life in general now.”

She’s gone from feeling like the weights area belonged to everyone else, to knowing how to train, trusting herself and genuinely looking forward to seeing what she can do next.

She’s also found a brilliant balance between strength training and running, and fitness has become something she and her partner John can share too. Next up, they’re taking on the Great North Run together.

Today Chloe graduates from OB coaching. She’ll always be part of Team OB and she’ll definitely be missed, but this is exactly what we want coaching to lead to
someone with the confidence, knowledge and self-trust to keep moving forward.

We’re so proud of you Chloe and so excited to see where endurance sport takes you next. I’ve got a feeling we’ll be watching you complete your first triathlon next year ❀

If Chloe’s story sounds like the kind of relationship you want to build with fitness, DM us “CHLOE” and let’s chat.

Should you miss your partner when they’re away?

This is one we’ve disagreed on many times over the years 😅 whats your take?

It was never really about the chocolate.

Back then, one bar felt like proof that Katie had failed again. Proof that she was still the version of herself she was trying to leave behind.

Now, the same choice carries almost no emotional weight.

Not because she cares less.

Because she has years of evidence showing her who she is now.

One choice doesn’t define you. One difficult day doesn’t erase everything you’ve built.

Collect the evidence.

It’s often the little things nobody else sees that tell you the most about someone.

Lucas had no idea I was filming this. He’d spotted a mum and two baby squirrels playing in the garden this morning, and with how hot and dry it’s been, he’s been making sure they’ve got water.

It’s moments like this that quietly remind you why you love someone.

Character has a funny way of showing itself when nobody’s watching ❀

Something I wish I’d understood in the first years of my fitness journey

I used to think finding something I enjoyed was the answer.

And yes, enjoying your training matters, just like finding food you like matters and building a lifestyle you actually want to live matters.

But I confused enjoying the process with thinking every part of the process should be enjoyable.

They’re not the same thing.

Some days will feel hard, some days you will cry, some days you will be frustrated. Some choices will be inconvenient and trust me even now some sessions I don’t want to do.

That doesn’t mean the process isn’t right for you.

Sometimes the better question isn’t “Did I enjoy that?”

It’s “Will I be proud that I did it?”

I wish I’d learned that one a lot earlier, because the expectation of enjoyment daily was creating the suffering.

Should you need your partner?

It’s Friday night, I’m having Turkish, calamari, and all the bread and garlic dip to go with it.

And if you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that’s normally followed by an ice cream too.

And
I’m also in a fat-loss phase at the moment.

I wish this was something more women realised could exist at the same time.

Because like so many women, there was a time when this meal would have come with a whole side order of guilt for me.

I’d have spent the week trying to be “good”, and then Friday night would feel like I’d either ruined my progress or needed to earn the food first.

Now it’s just dinner.

You can want to change your body, you can be really committed to making progress without having to give up meals out, bread, ice cream, or enjoying a Friday night without trying to convince yourself you’ve earned it because you’ve had a hard week.

For me, this is what my fitness journey is really about.

Not making my life smaller just so I can change my body, but having the knowledge, confidence and flexibility to make progress whilst still actually living it.

Because when food stops deciding whether you feel good or bad about yourself, fitness becomes a very different experience.

It can be done, you don’t have to choose between getting results and having a life.

If you’d like to learn how, DM me WINE đŸ·

P.S. And if you’ve already learnt how to find that balance, tell me below what are you enjoying tonight? 👇
