After battling anorexia and a hospital stay, I was told to rest for three months. My sports career was over. With no money and needing a new outlet, I discovered running. It was cheap, accessible, and quickly became my passion.

The greatest part of the challenge wasn't the physical feat, but the incredible people met. Strangers shared life stories, offered free camping, and cheered us on. Pure acts of kindness made the journey unforgettable.

Caught in 75 mph winds, scrambling over boulders in the dark. One misstep on a sheer cliff edge led to a terrifying moment—a 50-meter drop into churning seas below.

Finished a marathon and immediately wanted more? This is that story. Two weeks later, a 100K signup happened. What was I thinking? I just knew I could go further, even without a coach, running longer than my marathon plan. My longest training run? A brutal 50K.

My crew found me when I left the village and warned me I was on the wrong track. I remember just getting in the car and saying, 'I need to go to a fast food restaurant right now.' I basically semi-slapped in the car while they figured everything out. We got to a fast food restaurant and I had a huge portion of fries, 2 breakfasts, a coffee, and a bagel all in one sitting.

Dealing with immense pressure? The hardest part is often the lack of sympathy and the expectation that you'll just push through. When you finally reach out for help, even a simple hug and the words 'It's going to be hard, but we're here for you,' can make all the difference. Don't hesitate to reach out, even if it's just to cry on the phone.

Coming down the final 10K ridge at Race to the Stones. The whole valley and finish line in sight. It felt like nothing – no pain, just pure exhilaration as my feet flew.
