Food in a deficit doesn’t have to be boring 🍕

Under 400 calories and 21g protein (could be made more) and it was delicious and very filling!

Let’s get down to business so everyone can understand what I’m about to say!

Eating too many calories will stop you losing weight… not eating enough calories can also stop you losing weight, go figure (how many times do I come across people only consuming 1000 calories per day? Many… how many times is it frustrating when they don’t listen? Every single time!)

To lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit, this means you are burning more calories daily than you are consuming. No matter how many fancy fad diets that people try to sell you… the be all and end all of weight loss is a calorie deficit. But you also need to choose your foods wisely to fuel your body! Many foods that are healthy can be calorie dense such as nuts and cheese, this means they are high in calories for a small amount.

Many people also do not track correctly, not weighing and measuring their foods. A two-week study, 10 obese people reported consuming 1,000 calories per day. Lab testing showed they were actually taking in about 2,000 calories per day (source independent.co.uk)… this can easily happen with calorie dense foods.

People also forget to track what they’re drinking… tea, coffee with milk, squash, fizzy pop etc… all contain some calories!! So track them… or stick to water if in doubt!

Now onto not eating enough! 1000 calories… really… 1200 calories… the one size fits all calorie amount, I smell something 🐂💩, not everyone needs the same amount of calories!

If you are on the weighty side, you will naturally need to eat more calories as you burn more carrying around the excess weight. This means your BMR will be naturally higher (basal metabolic rate - the amount of calories you need to consume to just live without adding in any movement at all). If you don’t consume enough calories, you will binge. You will also lose muscle and your metabolism will slow down! Your body will basically go “Jesus Christ when am I going to eat again… squirrel away that fat for energy”. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Thus being counter productive… you’re not being big, and you’re not being clever by eating too few calories.

Please I beg of you, trust the process and trust your PT!

Taking into consideration how rubbish I’ve felt at work today with the heat, I’m not going to risk it tomorrow with the park being so out in the open.

So there will be no class tomorrow, enjoy the sun safely.

Because it’s due to be hot on Saturday, circuits will be at 9️⃣am ‼️

Who’s gonna be there?
