Yesterday we had Fred and Archie representing the school at the UK Open Championships.

Fred performed a good pattern but had an unlucky draw in the first round. In sparring it was an epic first round and Fred battled through 2 rounds each at a draw and then in a nail biting golden point round he patiently waited for his opponent to make a mistake and secured the victory. In the second match he was against a competitor from Belgium and was unlucky right at the end of a very close match. Nevertheless it was the best Fred has sparred.

Fred channeled his flying squirrel mode and won a silver medal in special technique performing flying side kick over an obstacle. So, very well done!!

It was Archie’s first competition and he fearlessly stepped onto the mat for sparring but was unlucky in the first round. He enjoyed it and the experience was valuable and we hope to see him at the next one!

Today, we honor the memory of General Choi Hong Hi (9 November 1918 – 15 June 2002), the Founder of Taekwon-Do.

With gratitude and respect, we remember the man who gave the world this martial art and whose legacy continues to inspire generations of practitioners worldwide.

As one Taekwon-Do family, we proudly carry his vision forward.
