Practising the form 👊

The forms are where you start to see all the little bits of training come together.

The stances, the focus, the control, the balance it all has to be remembered and put into one sequence.

It’s not always easy, but that’s the point. Every time they practise it, they get a little sharper and a little more confident.

Our kids Kung Fu classes are about much more than learning techniques.

Every class helps children practise listening, staying focused, moving with control, and building confidence one step at a time.

From pad work and forms to fun drills and partner exercises, they are learning how to stay calm, show respect, and keep trying even when something feels tricky.

It is a great way for children to burn energy, make progress, and feel proud of themselves in a supportive environment.

We offer a 4-week free trial for new starters.

Grading week has come round again, and it’s always great handing out certificates and seeing all the hard work pay off. We’re really proud of all our students and the progress they’ve made.

We use the breathing balls in class to help children slow down, focus on their breathing, and finish in a calmer state.

After all the movement, drills and excitement, it gives them a moment to reset, regulate their breathing, and practise being still and in control. It’s a simple exercise, but it helps build focus, calmness and body awareness too.

It’s grading week

A big good luck to all of our students this week.

Gradings are not about being perfect. They are about showing your focus, effort, improvement and the progress you’ve been building in class week by week.

For some students, this week is exciting.
For others, there may be a few nerves too, and that’s completely normal.

What matters most is turning up, doing your best and showing what you have learned.

We’re proud of everyone stepping up and giving it a go. Keep working hard, stay focused and enjoy the experience.

Let’s have a strong grading week.

When someone grabs, we do not want to stay stuck in a tug of war.

This drill works on using the elbow properly to break the position, take away their defence, and put you back in control.

The elbow comes forward and down, not out, with the wrist drawing back and the movement crossing slightly through the centre. From there, you can use it to strike or create the space you need.

A small detail, but one that makes a big difference when it is done properly.
