Oh god, the time.

Now I tell it up front. It flags anything it isn't certain of as it writes, and I check 3 things instead of rereading the lot.

Most people worry about AI being wrong. (I worry about what they've pasted into it.)

6 years of building other people's systems will do that to you... I've had access to client databases, contracts, all sorts. You get funny about it.

Anyway. You can still ask the question. Swap the real names for Client A, swap the real figures for numbers that are the right shape, and the advice comes back identical.

Nobody tells you that bit, so people either overshare or don't ask at all.

Claude just released Opus 5.5. Here's what it means for you.

1. It's as good as Fable 5.1 on most work
Fable is Claude's smartest model.
Opus 5.5 gets to the same level on most jobs, and costs 40% less to run than Opus 5.

2. It's over 30% faster
Less time watching it think.

3. Your limits went up
Anthropic raised the five-hour limits on Pro, Max and Team.
Paid plans also get a limit reset you can save and use whenever you choose.
(Save it for your busiest day, trust me.)

4. It gets to the point
It puts the most important bit first.
One early tester said it was 40% less wordy.

For emails, captions and quick questions I'd still use Sonnet on Medium.
Save Opus for the big stuff.

It's paid plans only, so if you're on Pro or Max, go and have a play.

It's an unpredictable and stressful time for so many people right now.

I teach practical AI and AI literacy so that "non-techy" people like:

Dave down the road isn't confused and scared about what AI means for his job.

Jessica can troubleshoot the issues with her website without paying out for tech support she can't afford right now.

Rob can respond to enquiries faster and grow his new plumbing business without missing things.

Rachel feels less overwhelmed with all the technological advances that have flooded her industry, and no longer feels like giving up on her biz.

Thomas can do more thorough research in half the time and make informed decisions for launching his new product.

Amy can get all her admin done and still make the kids' school run every day without falling behind.

Mark can hand off the boring stuff he hates and do more of the creative work he's passionate about.

Maria can take meeting notes and adapt them to a format that works for her ADHD, and even have the follow ups done for her.

Daniel can spot trends for his consultancy business and focus his energy in the right places.

Seeing someone go from feeling helpless, overwhelmed and full of dread to feeling like they can tackle this new AI era with confidence and understanding is the reason I do this.

AI should never replace human creativity and empathy.

Let AI take the boring stuff.
Let it take the admin.
Let it take the complicated systems.
Let it make your job easier.

Don't let it take the art.
Don't let it take the humanity.
Don't let it take the music.
Don't let it take the joy.

Don't know what to hand to automate or hand to Claude first?

1. Does it take you 30+ minutes a week?
2. Is it repetitive and predictable?
3. Does it read from one place? Not essential, but it's the easiest start
4. Has it got a rhythm?
5. Is it low risk?

Someone writes something perfectly nice and I'm sat there going... hang on. Did a robot write that, or do you genuinely just love the word "delve"?

No idea. And once you've learned the tells you don't get to un-learn them, so now I'm clocking it everywhere.

3 Claude tips if you feel a bit stuck or not techy enough

1. Talk to it, don't type.
2. When it explains something in a complicated way, say: explain this to me like I'm 10.
3. Go and have a play. You're not going to break it.

Just keep sensitive info out.

Sick of re-explaining your business to Claude every time? You need a business brain.

It's one document with everything about your business in it. Google Doc, Word doc or a Notion page, whatever you use.

1. Make the document.
2. Tell Claude where to look.
3. Turn repeat jobs into skills, so you never type the same instructions twice.

Tone of voice is the most useful part to get into it. It's what stops your emails, website and posts sounding like AI slop.
