On Wednesday Ryburn held the annual sports day, with over 500 competitors out to compete in field events (+800m) in the morning and track events in the afternoon. It was a fantastic day with all pupils representing their forms superbly, showing excellent commitment, resilience, & determination.

Individually, two pupils smashed the school records, Lacie Jagger (Yr10) recording a brilliant 2.44 mins in the 800m & Finlay Parker (Yr8) completing the 200m in 27.72 secs.

🏃🏻‍♀️🥇⭐️ Athletics & Cross Country ⭐️🥇🏃🏻‍♀️

Congratulations to Year 10 pupil , Lacie Jagger on some amazing achievements in both cross country and track and field.

She ran for Halifax Harriers in the West Yorkshire Cross Country League under 15 girls, competing in 4 races. Halifax Harriers came 3rd in the league and Lacie came 9th overall.

In the West Yorkshire Schools cross country championships Lacie represented Calderdale Schools superbly, finishing in 12th place.

On the track, Lacie competed in the Yorkshire track and field championships, gaining an impressive 3rd place in the 800m u16 girls heat getting a personal best of 2:32. Following this up with a superb run at Calderdale Schools championship with a 1st place finish in the 800m with a time of 2.30.
