Paint brushes, bright colours, music in the background, and plenty of imagination⦠our latest Arts & Crafts sessions have been full of creativity, laughter, and wonderful teamwork at Montrose. šØ
This week our residents continued working on their modern abstract art project, experimenting with different colours, patterns, and techniques to create something truly unique. Itās been lovely watching everyone add their own touch to the canvas and seeing the confidence grow with every session.
A special mention to our newer residents Frances, Stuart, and Brenda, who joined in beautifully and quickly got into the creative spirit. From careful painting to bold splashes of colour, everyone brought something special to the project.

Audrey and Pamela from Taras Retreat enjoyed a truly special afternoon out in the community, continuing a tradition that means so much to everyone involved.
Our wonderful Knit & Natter group have spent months carefully crafting knitted squares, each one made with time, care, and purpose. These were lovingly brought together by our fantastic volunteer Mandy into beautiful blankets, which we were so proud to donate for the second year running to at The Quadrant.
The welcome from Denise and her team was as warm as ever, and after handing over the blankets, it was time for a well-earned cup of tea, a few chocolates, and plenty of smiles āš«
Of course, no trip would be complete without a little browse⦠or three! From charity shop treasures to a quick peek in the jewellers, the afternoon ended in style with Pamela dazzling in her new hat and sequinned jacket, and Audrey picking out some lovely blouses.
Something made with love is now helping others in the community āØ

Fresh country air, beautiful views, and gentle moments spent with some very special retired horses⦠sometimes the quietest afternoons leave the biggest impression. š“
Our residents loved meeting the horses up close and hearing all about their stories and personalities. You could see the joy and calm in every interaction, with smiles appearing the moment the horses wandered over to say hello.
Surrounded by rolling countryside and blue skies, it was the perfect chance to slow down, take everything in, and enjoy nature together. Watching friendships blossom, both with the animals and one another, made the afternoon even more meaningful.

Looks can be deceiving⦠and this one had us all fooled! šÆ
Our plate-and-ball challenge looked simple at first, guide the ball through the hole and land it perfectly into the cup⦠easy, right?
Not quite! What started as a āthis will be quickā game soon turned into a room full of laughter, focus, and a few happy tears as everyone gave it their best shot.
Near misses, surprise wins, and lots of cheering each other on it quickly became a proper carnival moment right here at home
