Pregnancy tired isn’t just “I need an early night” tired.

It’s:
• waking up already exhausted
• needing rest after the smallest task
• feeling like your energy disappears halfway through the day

And then still being expected to carry on as normal.

But this isn’t about you not coping.

Your body is doing multiple full-time jobs at once:
• growing a baby
• changing blood volume
• shifting hormones
• preparing for birth

Of course you’re tired.

Instead of forcing your way through it, this week we’re looking at something more helpful:

💛 how to actually work with your energy

Let’s help some tired mums out 👇

If a newly postnatal mum came to you and said:

“I have no time, no energy, and no idea what to eat...”

What’s the ONE food, meal, or snack you’d recommend?

💛 Something easy
💛 Something realistic
💛 Something that helps on busy days

Drop your suggestion below.

You never know which comment might help another mum feel a little more supported this week.

After Charlotte was born, I spent a lot of time thinking about what I shouldn’t eat.

Should I avoid this?
Should I be healthier?
Should I lose weight?
Should I be trying harder?

Looking back, I was asking the wrong question.

The better question would have been:

“What can I add that helps me feel more supported?”

More protein.
More water.
More meals where I actually sat down.
More kindness towards myself.

That shift changed everything.

Because postnatal nutrition shouldn’t be about constantly taking things away.

It’s about giving your body more of what it needs. 💛

One thing I love seeing in classes is mums starting to trust themselves again.

Not because they’re following a strict plan.

Not because they’re tracking every bite.

But because they’re learning to listen to their bodies.

They start recognising:
✨ when they’re genuinely hungry
✨ when they’re running low on energy
✨ what foods help them feel better
✨ what supports them during busy days

That’s a huge win.

Because confidence around food often comes from understanding your body—not controlling it.

And that’s something worth celebrating. 💛

Postnatal nutrition expectations vs reality…

Expectation:
🥗 Colourful balanced meals
🧃 Plenty of water
🍎 Healthy snacks prepared in advance

Reality:
☕ Reheated tea or coffee
🍌 Half a banana
🧀 Cheese eaten directly from the fridge

Can we all agree that postnatal nutrition sometimes looks very different to the picture-perfect version online? 😂

Some days you’re organised.

Some days you’re surviving.

Both are normal.

💬 What’s the most random thing you’ve eaten because it was quick and available?

Photos from Mums In Motion's post 03/06/2026

Nutrition doesn’t need to be complicated.

Rather than focusing on calories, try asking:

“Have I included something that supports my body today?”

A balanced meal isn’t about perfection.

It’s simply giving your body some of the building blocks it needs to recover, heal, and keep up with the demands of motherhood. 💛

02/06/2026

“The pressure to ‘bounce back’ is exhausting enough without looking after a baby too.”

One of the hardest things about postnatal nutrition isn’t knowing what to eat.

It’s the constant messages telling mums they should be:
❌ Losing weight
❌ Getting their body back
❌ Starting a diet
❌ Fitting into old clothes

All while recovering from pregnancy, birth, and caring for a baby.

Your body isn’t failing because it looks different.

Your body has done something incredible.

The postnatal period isn’t a race to shrink yourself.

It’s a time to support healing, energy, hormones, and recovery.

You don’t need another diet.

You need nourishment, rest where possible, and far more compassion than most mums give themselves. 💛

🤰 Are you pregnant and wondering what exercise is actually safe right now?

You’re definitely not alone.

Most mums I speak to at this stage fall into one of these:

A) “I want to move but I’m scared of doing the wrong thing”
B) “My body feels stiff/tired and I don’t know where to start”
C) “I used to exercise but pregnancy has completely changed everything”
D) “I just want someone to guide me properly so I don’t have to guess”
E) “I’m not even sure if I should be exercising”

This is exactly why I created my Mums in Motion Pregnancy Class 💛

It’s a supportive space designed to help you:
✨ move safely through pregnancy (without overthinking it)
✨ reduce tension in hips, back, and pelvis
✨ build gentle strength for labour and beyond
✨ understand your body as it changes week by week
✨ feel confident, not confused, about movement

No guesswork.
No pressure to “keep up”.
Just safe, guided movement that meets you where you are.

If you’re pregnant and thinking “I just need someone to show me what to do” — this is for you.

Drop me a 🤰 or message me if you want details or to join the next class.
