Pregnancy tired isnât just âI need an early nightâ tired.
Itâs:
⢠waking up already exhausted
⢠needing rest after the smallest task
⢠feeling like your energy disappears halfway through the day
And then still being expected to carry on as normal.
But this isnât about you not coping.
Your body is doing multiple full-time jobs at once:
⢠growing a baby
⢠changing blood volume
⢠shifting hormones
⢠preparing for birth
Of course youâre tired.
Instead of forcing your way through it, this week weâre looking at something more helpful:
đ how to actually work with your energy

Letâs help some tired mums out đ
Â
If a newly postnatal mum came to you and said:
Â
âI have no time, no energy, and no idea what to eat...â
Â
Whatâs the ONE food, meal, or snack youâd recommend?
Â
đ Something easy
đ Something realistic
đ Something that helps on busy days
Â
Drop your suggestion below.
Â
You never know which comment might help another mum feel a little more supported this week.
06/06/2026
After Charlotte was born, I spent a lot of time thinking about what I shouldnât eat.
Â
Should I avoid this?
Should I be healthier?
Should I lose weight?
Should I be trying harder?
Â
Looking back, I was asking the wrong question.
Â
The better question would have been:
Â
âWhat can I add that helps me feel more supported?â
Â
More protein.
More water.
More meals where I actually sat down.
More kindness towards myself.
Â
That shift changed everything.
Â
Because postnatal nutrition shouldnât be about constantly taking things away.
Â
Itâs about giving your body more of what it needs. đ

One thing I love seeing in classes is mums starting to trust themselves again.
Â
Not because theyâre following a strict plan.
Â
Not because theyâre tracking every bite.
Â
But because theyâre learning to listen to their bodies.
Â
They start recognising:
â¨Â when theyâre genuinely hungry
â¨Â when theyâre running low on energy
â¨Â what foods help them feel better
â¨Â what supports them during busy days
Â
Thatâs a huge win.
Â
Because confidence around food often comes from understanding your bodyânot controlling it.
Â
And thatâs something worth celebrating. đ

Postnatal nutrition expectations vs realityâŚ
Â
Expectation:
đĽÂ Colourful balanced meals
đ§Â Plenty of water
đ Healthy snacks prepared in advance
Â
Reality:
â Reheated tea or coffee
đ Half a banana
đ§Â Cheese eaten directly from the fridge
Â
Can we all agree that postnatal nutrition sometimes looks very different to the picture-perfect version online? đ
Â
Some days youâre organised.
Â
Some days youâre surviving.
Â
Both are normal.
Â
đŹÂ Whatâs the most random thing youâve eaten because it was quick and available?
03/06/2026
Nutrition doesnât need to be complicated.
Â
Rather than focusing on calories, try asking:
Â
âHave I included something that supports my body today?â
Â
A balanced meal isnât about perfection.
Â
Itâs simply giving your body some of the building blocks it needs to recover, heal, and keep up with the demands of motherhood. đ
02/06/2026
âThe pressure to âbounce backâ is exhausting enough without looking after a baby too.â
Â
One of the hardest things about postnatal nutrition isnât knowing what to eat.
Â
Itâs the constant messages telling mums they should be:
â Losing weight
â Getting their body back
â Starting a diet
â Fitting into old clothes
Â
All while recovering from pregnancy, birth, and caring for a baby.
Â
Your body isnât failing because it looks different.
Â
Your body has done something incredible.
Â
The postnatal period isnât a race to shrink yourself.
Â
Itâs a time to support healing, energy, hormones, and recovery.
Â
You donât need another diet.
Â
You need nourishment, rest where possible, and far more compassion than most mums give themselves. đ

đ¤°Â Are you pregnant and wondering what exercise is actually safe right now?
Â
Youâre definitely not alone.
Â
Most mums I speak to at this stage fall into one of these:
Â
A) âI want to move but Iâm scared of doing the wrong thingâ
B) âMy body feels stiff/tired and I donât know where to startâ
C) âI used to exercise but pregnancy has completely changed everythingâ
D) âI just want someone to guide me properly so I donât have to guessâ
E) âIâm not even sure if I should be exercisingâ
Â
This is exactly why I created my Mums in Motion Pregnancy Class đ
Â
Itâs a supportive space designed to help you:
â¨Â move safely through pregnancy (without overthinking it)
â¨Â reduce tension in hips, back, and pelvis
â¨Â build gentle strength for labour and beyond
â¨Â understand your body as it changes week by week
â¨Â feel confident, not confused, about movement
Â
No guesswork.
No pressure to âkeep upâ.
Just safe, guided movement that meets you where you are.
Â
If youâre pregnant and thinking âI just need someone to show me what to doâ â this is for you.
Â
Drop me a 𤰠or message me if you want details or to join the next class.
