parkrun is 22 years old today!

This weekend, Saturday and Sunday events will be marking this epic birthday... and one way to do that is to wear a tutu to celebrate two-two (22)!

So if you fancy wearing a tutu on Sunday (and we know some of our junior parkrunners rock a frilly skirt every Sunday anyway), feel free!

🍂 The park was looking gorgeously autumnal on Sunday—165 junior parkrunners and their grown-ups joined our event, which was fabulous.

🦺 Let’s also say a massive “thank you” to our 34 amazing volunteers. junior parkrun doesn’t happen without these amazing humans! We’d love to have more volunteers on our team, so if you fancy giving us a hand, please do! All the roles are super-easy to pick up, and there’s always someone around to explain anything if you have any questions.

👋 We could do with a few more people to help on Sunday 04 October—could this be your first time volunteering with us? We’d love to see you. Drop us a line on [email protected] if you can help.

👏 On Sunday, we celebrated 19 juniors joining us for the first time! Great to see you—come back and see us soon!

🔟 Zephie A and Matilda M-I received wristbands for completing 10 junior parkruns! Well done, Zephie and Matilda!

🏃‍♂️48 of our junior parkrunners achieved personal bests! parkrun isn’t a race, but sometimes it feels good to try your hardest. Well done, you fabulous 48.

😀 See you all in the park on Sunday—especially if you can volunteer!

Hello! Look at these gorgeous people. Would you like to be one of them? Course you would.

We still need THREE marshals for Eaton junior parkrun on Sunday.

Can you give us a hand?

We'd love to see you on Sunday morning - maybe you could marshal while your young person completes the course...

One of the many brilliant things about junior parkrun is the number of ways young people can get involved--not only walking, jogging and running, but doing the volunteer jobs that enable each event to take place.

This morning at EJP we celebrated two amazing under-14 volunteers, Keira and Asher. They have volunteered at parkrun events (not just Eaton juniors!) an amazing 50 times each.

Thank you, Keira and Asher, for helping EJP and other events to be such a success each week.

If you know a young person who would like to volunteer at Eaton junior parkrun (maybe while a sibling completes the course?), drop us an email: [email protected]

And congratulations again to Keira and Asher!

Say hello to this morning's volunteers!

junior parkrun isn't a race, but many people from the local running community volunteer with us each Sunday. With it being Run Norwich today, it was a bit tricky to find all the people we needed, so extra thanks to everyone who made Eaton junior parkrun happen this morning.

Let's also say a massive thank you to Zoe and Miriam, who aren't in this picture but who asked if they could volunteer and "handed" out some brilliant high fives
