This time last week on the Welsh coast… looking like we were having the loveliest time 🌊 ☀️⁣

In reality, I was f**ing and blinding trying to get across those stepping stones in the river There’s a video of it somewhere, and I sincerely hope it never sees the light of day. ⁣

One week on and we are both feeling pretty good! No plans for any more big ultras this year… but don’t hold me to that! ⁣

𝟱𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🌊⁣

On Sunday we ran the furthest we’ve run in a very long time… 50 miles from Bridgend to Cardiff.⁣

It was tough.⁣

A beautifully sunny day, running along the coastline for almost the entire route. Sounds idyllic… except most of the time I just wanted to launch myself off the cliffs into the glittering sea. 🌊⁣

The first 15 miles were on soft sand, the sun barely let up all day, and we somehow survived on full-fat Coke, gels and Chipsticks because the thought of eating a hot, stale sandwich in that heat was absolutely grim.⁣

I genuinely thought I’d be fine to coach that evening. I was very wrong. 😅 Thank you to everyone for being so understanding when I had to cancel. Lesson learned… if I ever decide to run this far again (no immediate plans! 🙃), I’ll be booking the whole day off, not just the morning.⁣

It definitely wasn’t my favourite ultra, but I’m so grateful to have spent a whole day exploring such a beautiful stretch of the Welsh coastline. The Welsh people were incredible too, cheering us on all day, and seeing my sister pop up at mile 27 gave me such a boost. 💛⁣

Sometimes the hardest adventures end up giving you the best memories.⁣

Anyway… here are a few photos. 💙⁣

And thank you, Will. ❤️ This was actually my anniversary present… but this year, I think I’ll just take a nice card. 😉

𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗽𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆’𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 ☀️🤍⁣

Sunshine, outdoor training, yoga in the field, amazing food, sauna, hot tub and lots of laughs with a really lovely group of women… basically my idea of a perfect Sunday 🥹⁣

Thank you again to everyone who came and made it such a special day. I absolutely love putting events like this on, bringing women together to move, switch off for a few hours, eat well, relax and just have a genuinely good time.⁣

I know a few of you missed out and have already asked about another one… and I’m very easily persuaded 😅 so I’m thinking we do it all again September/ October before winter sets in 👀 🍂⁣

If you’d be up for the next Thrive retreat, comment below or send me a DM and I’ll get some dates out 🤍

The reality of a trail run… 🏃‍♀️🌲⁣

Massive hills. Lots of walking. Plenty of F bombs. 🤬😂⁣

Yesterday nearly finished me off. I certainly didn’t ‘smash it’. I was covered in hives, my asthma was playing up, and after that last huge climb around mile 22, I had to stop and sit down. 🥵⁣

But even though I hit a major wall, I don’t see it as a fail. You don’t have to smash every run or every workout. We all have good days and bad days, and that’s part of it. Don’t take it all so seriously. Show up, do what you can, and move on to the next one.⁣

Brutal… but always beautiful. And that’s exactly why I love trail running. 💚⁣

p.s Thank you, Will, for getting me through those last four miles, I know it was painful for you too! 🫶⁣

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m absolutely knackered 🥵⁣

I never come home and lie down straight away… but I’m currently stuck here and not moving anytime soon. 😂⁣

I love the heat. I love a good sweat. What I don’t love is sweating as soon as I walk into work, sweating while standing still, sweating while thinking about sweating, and generally feeling like I’ve spent the entire day inside a sauna. 💦⁣

Massive well done to everyone who still dragged themselves into the gym and got the job done. 👏⁣

And if you didn’t make it in, don’t worry, this heat isn’t for everyone, and it won’t be around for long!⁣

Stay hydrated, keep the fans pointed directly at your face, and we’ll see you soon. 💪⁣

P.S. At this point, maybe we should all invest in cooling bandanas like Sausage

𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮’𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 ❤️⁣

From the moment I met this woman, I knew she was special. She came to a Saturday session and absolutely blew me away. I remember thinking, what an absolute badass! 🙌⁣

So when Anna told me she was taking her PT qualification, I wasn’t surprised at all. Over the last few months, she’s covered some of our Saturday sessions, and the feedback has been incredible. Anna, you were born to do this! ❤️⁣

Surgery is frustrating and scary, but we’re focused on the long game. We only get one spine in this life, and right now it deserves all the love and care you can give it.⁣

Anna, you’ve become such a huge part of the Thrive family, and you will be SO missed. But time flies, and before we know it, you’ll be back doing what you do best.⁣

Wishing you all the luck in the world for tomorrow. We’re all behind you and can’t wait to welcome you back. 𝙔𝙤𝙪’𝙫𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 💪❤️⁣

Lots of love from your Thrive family ❤️⁣

Things I learned from the Wellness Festival… 👇⁣

✨ Bodyweight training is HARD.⁣
Those small, controlled movements can absolutely ruin you in the best way!

✨ Age really is just a number.⁣
Seeing Mr Motivator and his wife (73 + 69) moving with so much energy, enthusiasm and joy was seriously inspiring.⁣

✨ Training together is powerful.⁣
Moving as a group, doing the same thing at the same time, creates an amazing feeling of connection and togetherness.⁣

✨ It’s nice to slow down sometimes.⁣
Yoga isn’t just good for the body—it’s good for the soul too.⁣

✨ Training outdoors = instant mood boost.⁣
Fresh air, movement, and sunshine. It just feels like where we’re meant to be. 🌿⁣

✨ You can drink alcohol and still work out.⁣
Would I recommend it? Probably not… 🙈 But it was impressive seeing people get involved regardless!⁣

A weekend full of movement, laughter, learning, and a reminder that fitness comes in many different forms. 💪❤️⁣
