Paul delivered a wonderful course, and his ability to efficiently deliver a combination of verbal, visual and practical application of the subject matter made the whole course simply superb. Bisley weekender : McQueens, 600 yard F class, 900 yard steel buffalo competitions and of course Chobham steels. Superb weekend, new shooters coached, competitions shot and a good laugh had by everyone. That’s what it’s all about!

First full bore shoot of 2026 and it's a full house. 25 WRPC attendees, four first timers. Tuition provided, all shooters on target and many smashing bullseye after bullseye.

Superb day, smiles all round.

First informal warm up shoot of the new year. None of our belts fit any more, we're all a bit slower moving down range ... too many pies!

WRPC will be putting on Mini Rifle and Pistol events regularly during 2026.

Makes it worth while getting up at 6am ... beautiful crisp winter morning and a cracking day's target shooting with a good bunch of chaps. Thanks to members Dave and Oli for the pictures.

WRPC's 2025 full bore season is now complete. Shoots took place at Strensall, Beckingham, Bisley and Line of Sight in Scotland. More than 20 members gained their Shooter Certification cards, zero safety incidents, lots of very happy members. New disciplines shot including Mcqueens and Civilian Service Rifle, those will continue in 2026.

We will resume in February with monthly shoots at Strensall and Beckingham plus quarterly visits to Bisley.

WRPC has an NRA approved full bore instructor and a comprehensive training programme. If you're interested in joining a rifle club which shoots regularly, has a good camaraderie and welcomes shooters of any experience, especially beginners, check out our main website at https://www.wrpc.co.uk/

WRPC have held our first Civilian Service Rifle competition!

16 competitors, 672 rounds of ammo over four courses of fire. Shot with modern and historic rifles, engaging targets with limited time exposures from standing, kneeling, sitting and prone. Not your normal static target work!

Conducted by our fully qualified Range Controlling Officers with comprehensive safety briefings and instruction given, zero safety incidents, zero warnings needed, zero concerns.

Huge fun was had, WRPC will now look to conduct this competition quarterly if possible.

Typical course of fire ...
Start standing, rifle loaded ready at 200m
Command : Watch and shoot! Watch and shoot!
Target is presented, put two aimed shots into the target in 8 seconds, from the standing, kneeling or squatting position then return to standing for the next target.
For a total of for five targets!
Scored on accuracy, you'd better be good!

We have club rifles for members to use. Only full members of WRPC may take part - probation must be passed first.

All members interested in full bore shooting are fully trained by WRPC and will gain their Shooter Competency Cards as part of our training programme.

WRPC has a very active full bore shooting section, we usually enjoy two visits a month to shoot up to 600 yards plus quarterly visits to the national shooting centre at Bisley for ranges 1000 yards plus.
