Future Post - the Kiwi innovators who recycle soft plastics into fence posts are on the brink of shutting down after an arson attack caused more than $1 million in damage to their Waiuku facility.

If Future Post closes, New Zealand loses one of the only real solutions we have for soft plastics. And for the sign & print industry, that is huge. We rely on responsible recycling solutions to help improve our own footprint.

As for everyone in NZ, it is worth noting that without Future Post, a lot of the material we think we’re recycling has nowhere to go. It will likely end up in landfill.

The Government have told them that they do not tick the right boxes and so cannot offer support.

They’re asking people to purchase $5 virtual fence posts through Givealittle - https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/save-future-post-save-nz-recycling to help keep the doors open. The goal is 200,000 posts.
