Your yoga practice shouldn't end because your body changes.
Aging is inevitable. Injuries happen. Knees get sensitive. Shoulders lose range of motion. Balance shifts. Yet many yoga practitioners and teachers are left wondering how to adapt when the practice that once felt natural no longer does.
Jamie Annette is here in August to lead a 15-hour training designed to help you support yourself and others through the realities of aging and injury.

This month we're celebrating Jen DeNicola! She is a true example of what consistency can create. She shows up with a kind and grounded energy that sets everyone around her at ease. Early in the morning, or later in the evenings, she remains steady.
Since joining WYC in January of 2024, Jen has logged over 1,000 hours of practice, showing up with dedication, curiosity, and a willingness to grow every step of the way.

🔹 Favorite class?
I love classes in the Fire Room. The 6 AM Sunrise Flow has become an integral part of my daily routine; starting the morning with movement provides such a boost for the entire day. I also enjoy the structure of Ashtanga Flow. Practicing the same series each class allows me to truly measure and appreciate my progress.

🔹 Favorite asana?
I love side stretches and seated twists. Lately, my favorite has been Plow Pose; it stretches all the right places and allows me to shut out my surroundings and focus on breathing.

🔹 Advice for new students?
Keep coming back. Go at your own pace and remember it isn't a competition, it's a practice. You might fall or feel silly, but just laugh at yourself. With consistency, the breathing and cues start to make sense, and you'll be amazed by what your body can do.

🔹 Most satisfying aspect of practice?
The moment you realize you've achieved a pose you previously struggled with. These achievements build a quiet strength and determination that spread through all aspects of life. Yoga builds your confidence while keeping you humble, which is the kind of energy I want to take off the mat and into the world.
