BREAKING 🚨

While in Belfast this week, Arnold Schwarzenegger made an unexpected pit stop… at the Chiefs rink 👀

Witnesses say Arnie laced up the inline skates, grabbed a stick, and jumped straight into a scrimmage - reportedly telling teammates “I’ll be back… for the second period.” 🏒

Rumour has it he’s now in talks for a short-term coaching contract, pending fitness tests and a casting call for Terminator: Powerplay.

Bangor Chiefs, you never disappoint.

League 2 in action last weekend

Saturday’s games
The games against the Ducks and Sirens on Saturday were both won with a great effort from everyone on the bench. The two games were a testament to the teamwork from everyone.

Sunday’s games
First game on Sunday was a hard fought battle against the Stars with both teams getting chances. We took a 1-0 lead and while trying to add to the lead, the Stars got level and after that the momentum swung the way of the Stars with them winning 3-1.

Second of the day was against the Knights was a really great team effort getting up 4-1 unfortunately we weren’t able to hold on as we lost 5-4 in OT to the league winners.

Built for the crease. 🥅💥

Inline goalies know there’s no hiding - no posts to lean on, no ice to slide. Just edges, angles, and pure reaction. Crease work at its toughest: squaring up, tracking the puck, controlling rebounds, and locking down the shot all without flinching. We 💙 our goalies!

Elite roundup
We faced a challenging double‑header against Kilkenny Storm and Cork Wolfpack while operating with a severely reduced bench. Despite limited numbers, the squad delivered two strong performances, reinforced by the call‑up of young Evan from the Cork League 1 team, who stepped in confidently and contributed well throughout the day.

Across both games, the team demonstrated strong character, work rate, and tactical discipline despite operating with a short bench. Out‑shooting Kilkenny and decisively controlling the game against Cork highlighted the team’s ability to impose themselves on opponents even under difficult circumstances.

Special recognition goes to Evan for stepping up seamlessly and gaining valuable experience at this level. While the day produced mixed results on paper, the performances reinforced Bangor’s competitiveness, depth of commitment, and positive direction moving forward.

League 2 weekend games 🥅🏒

Our game against the Stars was a tightly fought battle between both teams, with chances hard to come by for both teams but it was the Stars who took a 2-1 lead and were able to hold on.

The second game of the day against the Mayo Bulls was a great team performance with contributions from everyone. A slow start to the game gave Mayo the lead but the determination from the team showed through with Jackie getting his first senior goal ⭐️ to bring the game level. After the game was tied the team was able to get 3 more goals and win 4-1.

A special mention for Andy 🤩playing in his first game for the Chiefs as he helped keep both games within reach.
