For the second Sunday in a row our game has been called off with no referee to officiate. Further details for our next game will be posted early in the week

Division 1 result - Brandon Sports FC 4-1 Coundon Miners

Absolutely fantastic start to our campaign tonight as we made a winning start thanks to a quality team performance from the lads. The first half was pretty much one way traffic from us as we did everything right but score, missing good opportunities and failing to really test the Coundon keeper.

Second half instructions were to keep the momentum up and to take our chances and with the first attack of the half a teasing ball from Jordan Grosert found Robbie Murray who rose highest to plant a header into the net, claims of an OG but nobody taking that away from him. We never stopped grafting for the whole game, MOM Matthew Griffiths putting in a tireless shift in the middle of the park before swapping out to LB after a nasty looking injury to Louis Mudd (speedy recovery lad). We continued to threaten and with some great link up play again down the right hand side, Jordan Blinco fired a perfect ball inside to Peter Amaraegbu who slammed an unstoppable strike in off the bar. Fair play to Coundon they wouldn't lie down and got themselves back into the game with a quality strike from the edge of the box, they created a couple more chances however our goalkeeper Kieran Turnbull was in fine form. Amaraegbu was a constant threat and was brought down in the area not long after we conceded, with Ryan Wright sending the keeper the wrong way. Our skipper Robson Brown wrapped the game up with ten minutes to go with a fine close range finish and also had another well taken goal ruled out for offside.

The forgotten side of Sunday League Football..

With the new season starting next week this is a massive shout to everyone who helps out behind the scenes at this fantastic football club. From washing strips, chasing subs (and fines 😩) to making the bait after the games.

It doesn't go unnoticed and we appreciate everything you do for us ❤️

Well that's a wrap for pre-season. With some fantastic young additions we are ready to start the new season off next Sunday at home to Dubmire in the cup. We've had some really good tests in July which was exactly what we wanted, the last two games against Premier League opposition we went toe-to-toe in the end falling short but nothing to be disgraced by, match fitness and silly decisions being the major factor which we hope will be ironed out when the real games start.
