The first week of me trying to add nutritional value to my dinners.

I’ve made a promise to myself to cook more.

The goal is to stop buying sh*te microwave meals / takeouts / on the go easy dinners with very little thought for value.

For me this is nothing to do with weight loss or cutting it’s more about eating more nutritious foods, increasing fibre, greens & having more variation in protein that’s not meat.

The goal is to ADD value to my diet.

By adding more value and honing in on what I eat I will hopefully feel some positive changes and create better habits.

All of these meals took minimal time and effort to put together (which for me as a lazy MF is what really helps).

I don’t know the calorie content in these meals, and I don’t plan on knowing, I know what works for me and my body / needs!

I will caveat that with I’m not a dietitian or a nutritionist - simply sharing in hope it creates some inspiration for others 💫

Meet Gemma 🌈

Gemma has been doing 1-1 with me since January.

Her goal was strength and weight loss.

In 5 months she has massively improved strength:

💪🏼 70kg Trap Bar Deadlifts
💪🏼 20kg Strict Press
💪🏼 59kg Machine Leg Press
💪🏼 60kg Pull Downs

She has worked hard outside of the gym too. Improving her daily habits and nutrition which has meant she has gone from a size 24 to a 17.

I am a big believer that the first step is the game changer to everything.

It’s arguably the hardest part. Walking through the door of the gym for the first time or asking for help.

But the ripple effect from that one change will see you start to flyyyyy 🏌️

Great work 💎🔥

There’s no cap on when you can start lifting weights

Being stronger can give you independence

It can help prevent the risk of falling and breaking bones

It can keep you mobile so you can keep playing sports, going for cycles, walking up hills

It isn’t always PB’s

It’s doing the basics really well, showing up weekly and learning something that will last you for life

Knowing that one day in your 80s when you’re the one still cutting shapes and climbing munros you’ll be glad you hired me as your coach 😉

First time I’ve lifted over 52.5kg, I’ll take it.

I just wanted to see what I could get considering the last 12-14 weeks I have flipped from lots of CrossFit to more strength based training 3x a week.

I have noticed I big shift in strength.

The main this is I’ve repeated what I’ve been doing.

I’ve hit the sessions weekly.

I’ve not tried to be perfect all of the time.

I’ve shown up to sessions whinging like a little child because I cba.

But I’ve just kept showing up regardless.

You will be SO surprised at what you can achieve, it might not even feel like you’re doing much.

But when you’re consistent, you enjoy the process, and you realise how bloody good this is for you..

You’ll see the progress. You’ll start seeing a change and you’ll make real lifelong changes to your health.

PRIDE 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️👭💘

At the base of it all people deserve to live their lives authentically.

Sadly in many countries being gay or q***r is still criminalised.

Recently we have watched trans rights being questioned and stripped away.

Governments trying to erase visibility and history.

Increased numbers of violence and attacks towards lgbtq+ folk.

Pride is a protest.
Pride is being visible.
Pride is being loud.
Pride is showing the world we’re not going anywhere.
Pride is supporting your lgbtq+ friends and family.
