STAINLAND LADIES
CC REACH THE WEST YORKSHIRE SOFTBALL FINALS.
What a fantastic achievement by
Stainland Ladies CC, who enjoyed an outstanding day of cricket to reach the West Yorkshire
Softball Finals Day as runners up.
The team produced three excellent performances on their way to the final, showcasing the talent, determination and team spirit that have been evident throughout the season.
In their opening match, Stainland
defeated Booth CC by 10 runs, posting 100/2 from their 8 overs before restricting Booth to 90/2.
Confidence continued to grow in the next round as Stainland produced a dominant display against Mytholmroyd CC.
Stainland opted to field first and with a superb fielding and bowling performance they managed to limit Mytholmroyd to 55/5.
Stainland continued to bat with confidence securing a convincing
58-run victory.
The semi-final proved to be a much closer contest against
Barkisland CC.
Stainland once again posted 98/2 and then held their nerve in the field to restrict Barkisland to 84/1, earning a hard-fought 9-run win and a place in the final.
The final saw Stainland face a strong Bradshaw CC side. Despite giving everything and battling throughout, it was a game too far and Stainland were unable to match Bradshaw's excellent performance, finishing on 61/5 in reply to Bradshaw's 89/1.
While the final result didn't go Stainlands way, reaching the West Yorkshire Finals on the 5th of July 2026 was the overall objective and a great achievement for Stainland, one that everyone connected with Stainland CC should be incredibly proud of.
Congratulations to all of our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters who contributed to a memorable day. The team represented the club brilliantly, and their success is a testament to the hard work, commitment and enjoyment that women's cricket continues to bring to Stainland CC.
Congratulations also to Bradshaw CC, worthy champions who played superbly in the final.
A fantastic day, a wonderful
achievement, and a team that has made the entire club proud.

Our new net training facility is now up and running and being well used by our Junior, Senior and Ladies teams. We are delighted to see so many members using the facility to work on their game.
Our Senior and Junior sides rotate the use of the facility for training sessions and access is available for all our members at other times.
Our top class facility has been funded with support from YCF, ECB, Stainland and District Parish Council and our members who fundraised tirelessly throughout 2025 and will continue to raise funds to support our ongoing investment in facilities.
Finishing touches are underway including new safety fencing around the perimeter which will also double up as a new sponsor board area and later in the year we are hoping to undertake an all weather padding up area.

Congratulations to our Under 15s on their first win of the season last night. It's great to see the team improve week on week and build a fantastic team spirit too. Special mention goes to Milo who retired not out on 35 and bowled a hat trick, finishing with 4 wickets from his three overs and conceding just 6 runs.
Well done team!

It’s been great to see so many members enjoying use, and in particular the impromptu junior net sessions. We continue to strive to have the best facilities around for our members and community.

Great weekend for the youngsters, with the ball! Congratulations to Guv who took 6-78 from 11 overs and Robson with a spectacular 5-25 from his 11 overs.
