Race Results 🏅
This weekend we had a very busy team weekend 👏🏻
From 5KM races at home to the oldest ultra marathon on planet earth 😳🙌🏻
Let’s get into it:
Natalie & Laura - A very huge shoutout to Natalie Pirrie & Laura Pirrie taking on the World Cup Warm Up 5KM, not only is it a hard course but also Laura’s first ever event 👏🏻
It’s been incredible watching them both work on their running the last few weeks & months & can’t wait to see their next race 💪🏻
Both girls are prepping for Manchester Marathon next year & we can’t wait to see them smash some more races out the park in the months leading up to next year 🥳 super proud of yous both!!
Reece - Just joining the team recently, Reece took on the 10KM race on Saturday which was good to get back into the fold of racing off the back of Edinburgh Marathon 🎯
We’re now in full prep for Glasgow 2 Edinburgh ultramarathon later on in the year 👏🏻 top work matey on a hard hard course!
Alison - Topping off a busy week for Alison! She took part in the Uncle Bob’s Charity cycle on Tuesday taking on a hard 80KM on the bike 🚴♂️
Stepping into Saturday and running a great 5KM time 🏃🏻♂️
Now it’s continuing on full focus for Barcelona Ironman 🏊🏻♂️🚴♂️🏃🏻♂️
Fiona - COMRADES MARATHON 🏆
This one is an incredible result! Taking on the oldest ultramarathon on planet Earth 👏🏻
And smashing it out the park!!!
She’s raced this race the last 2 years and fell short by a short margin and this year she went with full focus on being third time being the charm 🎯
The work that was put in to get there was incredible and we’re all buzzing to see her cross that finish line after 87KM of running & 2,343M of elevation 😳
Super proud to see you cross that finish line, this one was definitely special 🥳

🏆 RACE RESULTS 🏆
On Sunday we had Fraser take on the Grafman 70.3
His first dip into middle distance triathlon and he nailed it 🎯
Coming fresh out the back of Edinburgh Marathon
We’ve quickly turned focus to triathlon
With the Grafman only a few weeks after Edinburgh we made sure to be prepping during Edinburgh and used them as a bit of juggling match to help one another 👏🏻
From the swim it was a choppy start but once he found his rhythm he was moving well & starting to pick people off in the water 🏊🏻♂️
Quick transition and onto the bike and putting down a tremendous 90KM coming in around 3HR’s 5 mins which is a superb time 🚴♂️
Finishing with a great half marathon off the bike with a few hip issues we’ve been nursing the half was just where we want it to be 🙌🏻
Now we turn our attention to the bigger full distance and look to build the fitness and strength to nail that out the park 🏆
Top work matey, going from strength to strength at the moment 👏🏻

EDINBURGH MARATHON 🏆
Yesterday we had 2 of our legends competing at Edinburgh 👏🏻
It’s always a tough course and day out there with the sun coming out
But they absolutely smashed their races 🎯
First up we had Fraser
Taking on the marathon distance and coming home with a massive 21 min PB 👏🏻
The lead up to Edinburgh was great for him, nailing some great weeks on the lead up & hitting just about every session mapped out whilst also balancing life, a young family, a busy job & also prepping for an Ironman as well 😳
Yesterdays conditions didn’t fully play out the way we wanted them to but overall a massive result coming through for him and absolutely buzzing with the work he put in & the result he walked away with 🥳
Next up it’s straight into 70.3 & Ironman prep 🚀
Then we had our regular PB king Gordon
He’s been absolutely flying recently and with a busy weekend of running coming in too!
Starting off on Saturday at the Strathclyde Park Run nailing an impressive 5KM PB 🥳
That will an incredible 2 mins 30 off his 5KM time since the start of the year 👏🏻
Yesterday he was racing as part of the relay & finishing the race which arguably is the hardest with the logistics but also the waiting around and the heat to bring into contention as well 👏🏻
Smashing a great time & great experience being in a big marathon setting for him 🙌🏻
Looking forward to going full throttle into half marathon prep now 🚀

A lot of time tonight spent focussing on technique & training that turnover & ironing out any creases that might be needing worked on 💪🏻

Medal Monday 🏆
Another week, another batch of top results 👏🏻
This weekend we had a mixed bag of races playing out
First off we had our competing in the Bellahouston Half Marathon and walking away with a massive PB 👏🏻 buzzing to see all the hard training she’s been doing translate into a quality race result 🙌🏻
Top work, next up we’re into Triathlon prep for Laura 🏆
We then had competing in GymRace Utrecht! A hybrid style event focussing on Hyrox styled racing set up 👏🏻 she nailed the race with her race partner Bekah but the best part is the back story! Coming off weeks of injury & not being able to run to eventually being able to build her run volume back up
A week out being hit with a flu but still rolled into race day feeling good and came away with a top result 🙌🏻
Now we move onto marathon prep for Robyn 🏃🏻♂️
Lastly, we have who has been training hard since the start if year in prep for his races lined up this year 👏🏻 with a crazy busy work schedule it’s all been about building strong foundations that will serve us later on in the year!
It’s been great watching him build his strength & distance and ticking off a great time on Sunday there 🙌🏻
Next we pin focus to the Half Marathon distance 🏆
Another hugely successful week for those racing & also the rest of the team prepping for events & working towards becoming better athletes and the best version of themselves 🎯

There’s Been A Shift Recently 🤔
I’ve been noticing some trends and I thought I’d comment on them
Because the running space, in one hand is great, in the other, it’s a place that needs overhauled 🤷🏻♂️
But it comes down to the tall trees in the forrest
Those with the biggest influence & narrative
And to be honest, they need to do better 🎯
The amount of people being failed by coaching apps, AI, influencers with terrible information, people pushing apps that they don’t even use or setting crazy industry standards 🤦🏻♂️
And you wonder why runners have no idea what to listen to or believe 🫣
There’s three main themes though:
Education - you know me, education is the backbone of what I do 👏🏻 it’s the thing that sets most free! And the space needs to do more to protect, educate and support every day runners
Most of the advice I see out there is miles off the mark & often comes with a product being pushed at the back of it 🤦🏻♂️
Time - Time f*cking spent allows results to come through!
Yeah it is possible but strength, fitness, durability are all developed at different rates.
But we’re seeing a theme of influencers shooting for wildly outlandish goals & coming up way short because of this one thing, time spent!
Time during the block, time outside of the block! Results take time to accrue and doing a 18 week marathon block isn’t always the Golden Ticket 🤷🏻♂️
Expectations - are often the killer of the dream!
Just because X has done it, doesn’t mean that if you poach their plan and process that you can 🫣
The industry is shifting and it’s becoming wildly more popular
But just because Sawe or your favourite influencer runs 90-100 mile weeks
Doesn’t mean you need to
The industry is in a weird place right now
But there’s a few sectors of it that really need to tighten their act up
Because the standard is not f*cking good enough 🫡

Medal Monday 🏆
Another weekend on the spring marathon circuit
And what a weekend it was 👏🏻
We had 2 of our athletes competing at London & Hamburg marathon 🏅
Alison - the full focus this year has been Ironman later in the year but London was definitely our first A race in the calendar! The lead up to this years London was interesting for her to say the least, lots of speed bumps & challenges along the way
But the strength to go & perform the way she did yesterday was incredible 👏🏻 ticking off an amazing time on one of the best days of the year!
Now we go full triathlon focus 🥳
Fiona - Taking on Hamburg this weekend in the lead up to what’s going to be an amazing challenge taking on Comrades marathon in 7 weeks time 🤯
Race plan was set with a focus on dialling in some focus around pacing & nutrition for what she will require on Comrades race day 👏🏻
Everything went to plan & came home under the race time that was planned 🏆

Sunny Mid Week Nights 🏃🏻♂️
Sometimes it’s about pushing hard efforts
Other times it’s about pulling back and keeping it nice & easy 👏🏻
And that was what was on the cards tonight 🙌🏻
The session was as follows:
Warm up into
5 x 1K’s with a nice 60 sec rest between each set
Simple, effective but well needed in the sun 🌞
