September Reflection🌿
September has been about finding my way back into a routine.
With Abhi starting his new job, Yash starting his apprenticeship, and Girik and Aarna heading back to school, the month began with new routines, early mornings and that familiar September feeling of starting afresh.
I’ve been finding my own rhythm too — more Surya Namaskar, Chandra Namaskar and pranayama, making the most of the sunshine, and lots of dog walks with Rio and podcasts in my ears. The simple things have often been my favourite.
There’s been a little of everything — a perimenopause wobble, falling ill, and learning to be kinder with my routines when life knocks me off track.
The Kerala retreat has also been a big part of September. Putting something so personal out into the world is exciting, but also a little scary. As a small business, I’m learning there isn’t always a roadmap — sometimes you just keep showing up, trying, learning and trusting that the right people will find their way to it.
And then September took an unexpected turn.
My parents arrived, my Masi came over from America, and there was lots of family time, hugs and cuddles. Then, just as the month was coming to an end, Mum ended up in hospital.
I actually had this reflection ready almost a week ago, but suddenly I didn’t feel like posting anything at all — no stories, no updates, nothing. It’s funny how quickly life can become a bit of a roller coaster and shift your perspective.
Thankfully, Mum is recovering well, which is such a relief. ❤️ And more than anything, this little scare has reminded me that sometimes the routines, plans and things we worry about really don’t matter quite as much as we think they do.
So I’m ending September feeling grateful — for family, for the everyday moments, and for the reminder to slow down, be present and take things one day at a time.
And perhaps, for now, that is enough. 🌿
