Does cardio actually kill your gains?

What does kill your gains is lack of recovery, too high cardio volume and incorrect timing, so let’s deep dive⬇️

Cardio is great for improving endurance, heart health and recovery.

It interferes with muscle growth when you’re doing high volume cardio sessions too close to strength sessions and not allowing yourself proper recovery time and when you aren’t fuelling yourself to keep up with exercise demand!

It’s not a case of not doing any cardio, it’s splitting it up to allow optimal recovery from both, as well as monitoring your fatigue levels and your body’s training response over time!

Breaking down sled push🔨

Sled push is a great movement for building explosive power and works on strength and endurance under fatigue.

A few tweaks to your form can make the movement faster and more effective✅

✅ Small steps
✅ Weight over the sled (leaning into the sled)
✅ Holding the sled low and at the elbow crease

❌ Use extended arms (personal preference but less efficient and more strain on the elbows)
❌ Tip the sled up when you push, maintain contact with the ground by leaning over the sled
❌ Don’t try and lunge- this will fatigue the quads and force you to move slower
