Nobody says this out loud.
Or at least not enough people do.
A lot of people arenât struggling because theyâre lazy.
Theyâre struggling because theyâre absolutely knackered.
They wake up tired.
Need caffeine just to become a functioning human being.
Rush their way through work.
Deal with lifes endless list of jobs, responsibilities and drama.
Then they get home and think:
âI should exerciseâ
âI should eat betterâ
âI should be more motivatedâ
But instead....
They collapse onto the sofa and start ngotiating with a packet of biscuits
And then comes the guilt.
âIâve got no willpowerâ
âI need to try harderâ
âWhy canât I stick to anything?â
When in reality...
The problem often isnât motivation.
Thd problem is youâre running on empty.
Think about it.
Itâs hard to make good decisions when:
Youâve slept badly
youâre stressed
your energy is low
your brain feels like itâs operating through treacle
Yet most people blame themselves
The fitness industry doesnât help either.
Because social media is full of people who apparently
wake up at 4am
meditate
journal
cold plunge
train twice a day
and somehow still have the energy to smile while eating overnight oats
Meanwhile youâre just trying to stay awake through a Teams meeting đ
So hereâs a thought.
Maybe you donât need more discipline
Maybe you need more recovery
Maybe the answer isnât another diet.
Maybe itâs:
getting to bed earlier
eating proper meals
drinking more water
walking more
slowing down occasionally
Not sexy
Definitely not instagram-worthy
But it works.
Because its hard to build a healthier body when youâre constantly trying to survive the day.
So if youâve bating yourself up lately...
Give yourself a bit of credit.
Life is demanding.
And before you focus on losing weight, getting fitter or changing your body...
Make sure youâre looking after the person trying to do it.

Most people donât need another diet.
They donât need another detox.
Another challenge.
Another meal plan downloaded with good intentions and forgotten by Thursday.
What they really want is to feel better.
To wake up with more energy.
To feel comfortable in their own skin.
To stop avoiding photos.
To stop feeling frustrated every time they catch their reflection.
Because after a while, it stops being about weight.
It becomes about confidence.
It becomes about feeling like youâve lost a bit of yourself somewhere along the way.
And truthfullyâŚ
Most people donât need more willpower.
They need:
support
structure
consistency
and a plan that fits around real life
Thatâs where lasting change happens.
Not through punishment.
Not through perfection.
Just small actions repeated often enough that they become part of who you are.
