⚽ Game 1 — South Reading A vs Basingstoke Waspettes
South Reading Ladies A took on the Basingstoke Waspettes in the first of four friendly matches.
It was an even encounter between two teams who played the game in a fantastic spirit. The South Reading A ladies secured a narrow 1–0 victory, setting the tone for the evening.
The only goal of the game was scored by Mel, who produced a lovely, calm finish following some excellent build-up play from the ladies. A composed side-foot finish was enough to settle the first encounter.

⚽ Game 2 — South Reading A vs South Reading B
Game 2 saw our two South Reading Ladies teams face each other, with the usual friendly but competitive in-house rivalry there for all to see!
Tyra played in goal for the B team for the first time and made some fine early saves as the B team came under pressure from the A team.
Eventually, that pressure told, with Toni opening the scoring before Hannah added two more to complete a 3–0 victory for South Reading A.
But take nothing away from our B team ladies, who fought hard throughout. Clare worked tirelessly and tested A team keeper Sandie on a number of occasions.
A great competitive game between our own ladies, played with plenty of determination and good spirit. 💚💛⚽

⚽ Game 3 — South Reading B vs Basingstoke Waspettes
Game 3 saw our South Reading Ladies B team take on the Basingstoke Waspettes.
The B team came out on top in another close-fought and lively encounter.
The Waspettes created some excellent chances through some very good build-up play, but they were unable to find the back of the net thanks to some fine defending from our B team ladies.
Eventually, Clare opened the scoring with a fantastic finish, hitting the roof of the net from just outside the area after some strong shielding of the ball.
Tyra then added a second with a calm finish to settle the game at 2–0 in favour of South Reading B.
A brilliant performance from the B team and another game played in great spirit. 💚💛⚽

⚽ Game 4 — South Reading Combined vs Basingstoke Waspettes
The fourth and final game was an 8-a-side match, giving players from both sides one final run-out, with a mixture of our South Reading A and B ladies taking on the Waspettes.
The South Reading combined side came away with a 2–0 victory.
Toni opened the scoring, before the highlight of the game came with a fantastic second goal from Elena.
After some excellent build-up play, the ball was played out from defence towards the right side of the pitch. Hannah delivered a lovely cross into Elena, who finished with a clean right-footed strike low into the right corner of the net.
A fantastic finish from a very much improving player. Well done, Elena! 👏⚽
The final score was 2–0, bringing a fantastic evening of walking football to a close.
Most importantly, all four matches were played in a wonderful spirit of friendliness, respect and sportsmanship between South Reading Ladies and the Basingstoke Waspettes.
Every player was a credit to the sport of walking football, and most importantly, everyone enjoyed the evening.

Great fun Sunday skills session!

South Reading Ladies 50s took part in the inaugural TVWFL Ladies Cup alongside teams from Watford, Bracknell, Woking, Oxford, Maidenhead and Woodley, producing an impressive team performance to finish fourth out of seven.

The day began with a narrow 1-0 defeat to eventual winners Watford, despite a strong display and several chances to equalise. A well-worked team goal, finished by captain Cara, secured a deserved 1-0 victory over Woodley in the second match.

South Reading then earned four consecutive goalless draws against Bracknell, Woking, Maidenhead and Oxford. Outstanding defending, excellent goalkeeping from Mel, and strong teamwork ensured the side remained difficult to break down throughout the tournament, while also creating opportunities of their own.

The team finished with one win, four draws and one defeat, collecting seven points in a highly competitive field. Every player contributed superbly, with special praise for debutants Camilla and Sarah, who both impressed in their first walking football tournament.

A big thank you to Mel, Claire, Jane, Bridget, Elena, Clare, Cara, Camilla and Sarah for their commitment and effort. The squad can take plenty of confidence into the next tournament.

💚💛 40s Ladies Summer Tournament | Bisham Abbey | Sunday 5th July 💛💚

A fantastic day of football for our South Reading Ladies 40s as they battled through a highly competitive Group D.

The ladies opened with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Hersham, before earning another point in an entertaining 1-1 draw with Maidenhead thanks to a superb team goal from Lisa. A 4-0 defeat to tournament favourites Bracknell Blue meant we finished 3rd in the group with 2 points, securing a place in the quarter-finals.
In the last eight, we faced league champions Woking Flamingos, putting in another determined display before bowing out 2-0.
The scorelines don't tell the full story—every player showed tremendous commitment, teamwork and resilience throughout the day. Plenty of positives to build on, and we're incredibly proud of all 9 ladies who represented South Reading with such passion and determination.

☀️⚽️ South Reading Ladies Walking Football Skills Session ⚽️☀️

Despite the scorching temperatures today, our South Reading Ladies Walking Football players enjoyed a fantastic Sunday skills session at Prospect Park, expertly led by Coach Barry.

The session focused on everyone having a go in goal, practising shooting, free kicks, and defensive skills. It was great to see everyone getting involved, challenging themselves, and supporting each other throughout.

A big well done to all who took part and kept smiling in the heat! ⚽🥅👏

⚽💚💛 SOUTH READING LADIES A TEAM – LEAGUE CAMPAIGN COMPLETE! 💚💛⚽

The South Reading Ladies A Team brought their TVWFL league campaign to a close on Sunday 7th June with an excellent display of determination, teamwork and quality football throughout the day.

The ladies played some of their best football of the season, starting with a well-earned goalless draw against a physically strong Luton side. They then suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Wycombe Warriors in a very evenly contested match, before coming up against the eventual league champions, Walton & Hersham, who claimed a 3-0 victory.

The highlight of the day came in a fantastic 1-0 win over a strong Watford team. A superb goal from Cara Jones proved to be the difference, earning the ladies a memorable victory against the then league leaders and dealing a significant blow to their title hopes. It was a tremendous performance full of commitment, discipline and belief from South Reading. 👏⚽⭐
The season concluded with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Fleet, with an own goal from Fleet securing the ladies a deserved final point of the campaign.

Throughout the day, the team showed great resilience, excellent teamwork and the positive spirit that has been evident all season. Their efforts were rewarded with a very respectable 4th-place finish in a competitive league.
Well done to all the players for their hard work, dedication and fantastic team spirit throughout the season. You should all be incredibly proud of what you've achieved. 💛💚👏
